The idea that there really are not demonic children trying to get into the houses of potential victims for no discernable reason, evil or otherwise, really does not bother me.
the thing about getting into the homes of people, seems to have been myth added by some bogus stories afterwardsThe idea that there really are not demonic children trying to get into the houses of potential victims for no discernable reason, evil or otherwise, really does not bother me.
yes, but the thing about them trying to enter homes is pure fictionDidn't the original story involve a kid who insisted he needed a ride? And the teller claiming to be certain he'd die if he let the kid in his car?
its a human instinct, when you feel intimidated by someone, the brain automatically assumes that this someone is wanting to kill youIt's all pure fiction. The hook is the kids ask for help from the scared shitless "witness". If you help them you will die. Somehow we know this.
link or no likeI looked last night, and there's quite a bit on the interwebs about it. Old Brian Bethel (if that's really his name) is pretty notorious. He apparently posted his story in an attempt to create "real" BEKs, sort of like tulpas or something. The parallels with Slenderman are obvious.
Completely agree,I think with the Buffy franchise then the twilight franchise, Vampires, ghouls and things that go bump in the night had a resurgence. The BEK are just a story (urban myth) that have been embellished on forums like Creepypasta and the slenderman is of the same ilk. It's all pure fiction. The hook is the kids ask for help from the scared shitless "witness". If you help them you will die. Somehow we know this.
