Maybe the character The One Above All will be used to take down Thanos. From what I have read Marvel had several characters that were far more powerful than Thanos even with all the infinity stones.

The One Above All is God in the marvel universe and he doesn't get involved with anything. Very highly doubt he will show up. It would also be strange to introduce him without first introducing the living tribunal and Adam Warlock since they are the ones who do his bidding. There is a few marvel characters who are far more powerful than Thanos.

    Adam Warlock
    Death
    Dr. Strange
    Nemesis
    Galactus

Just to name a few. Pretty much every "cosmic being" can wipe the floor with Thanos.

    Watching

Thanos reach for that moon and rip it down to hit Stark with it was amazing...Not the special effects but to have Thanos actually do that in the movie...We have yet to see Thor battle Thanos properly like Dr. Strange did but I think the next movie we will see more of Strange's powers...

Dr. Strange gave his time crystal to Thanos so as you say Warlock should be brought in to stop Thanos if he was in the comics.
Didn't think Nemisis was more powerful than Thanos.

Nemesis was once the infnity gems. Then it decided to ditch it's sentient form and turn itself into 6 gems. Nemesis is mega, mega, mega powerful. Probably won't be in the MCU though since the gems are already gems. Even without the time stone Dr. Strange could beat Thanos. He still has a whole bunch of insane powers that MCU hasn't touched yet.

Yeah he is awesome. Would be cool for Disney to do a Secret Wars timeline where he was the main villian. He would mop the floor with Thanos though, just won't show up in Avengers or this current timeline. His soul is what powers the reality gem.

Yeah Thanos isn't very powerful without the infinity gauntlet. Thor wins that fight.

Disney purchased Marvel in 2009 for 4 billion & the Star Wars franchise in 2012 for 4 billion. In 2017 Disney's net worth was 96 billion.

Star Wars is the money maker on that deal. Star Wars is worth 7.5 billion and marvel is worth 4 billion.

That could change in the near future with Disney purchasing Fox and getting the xmen and mutants back in the fold...

Even if that did happen the Xmen aren't worth over 3.5 billion.

A scientist calculated the ludicrous strength of Marvel villain Thanos

Thanos is the baddest of the bad guys to swagger on-screen in 10 years of Marvel blockbusters.

Thanos is “the Genghis Khan of this universe” with a philosophical bend.

Northeastern University engineering assistant professor Steven Cranford calculated that Thanos is powerful enough to dead-lift the RMS Titanic.

Compressive failure of a carbon nano-tesseract: Sci-Fi inspired materials and the strength of thanos

    Abstract

Inspired by the super-materials of science fiction (“sci-fi”), here we probe the stability and strength of a proposed all-carbon nano-tesseract or hypercube projected into 3D space, a so-called hypercubyne. The nanostructure is compared to other, similar carbon geometries of similar size, including a fullerene, a hypercubane, and a pentatope.

The hypercube configurations provide high compressive strength and elastic toughness with an open lattice structure. For the all-carbon hypercubyne, initial failure is characterized by a buckling instability. Using the ultimate strength of hypercubyne as a basis, we proceed to predict the lower bound of the strength of the supervillain Thanos, who has been depicted destroying the Tesseract in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Thanos has a minimum grip strength of over 40,000 tons, which is approximately 750,000 times that of a typical man.

While such comic-inspired analysis is whimsical by design, the study sheds light into the behavior of future exotic carbon constructs and geometries, and illustrates the potential field of “sci-fi” inspired materials.
