Here is how I see the bill Cosby thing, No, He didn't pay for his crimes like most nonfamous people would have. But HE did have a lot more to lose than most people would have had to lose, and he lost that. What is the price of a crime before someone has paid their debt? He lost his money, His fame. and he ruined His name forever. That's a lot more than most people who fully serve their time have to lose... I feel like to want him to be punished even more at this point, Would just be bloodthirsty. In my eyes, There is no point in punishing someone that's literally ten minutes away from passing on. Thats an example of society being overly harsh.
I can say this, People make assumptions sometimes, Based on Gender, That doesn't make those assumptions true.Obviously you've never been sexually assaulted. The laws are no where near harsh enough especially where children are concerned.
At one point or another, almost everyone you meet or will meet has encountered sexual assault or experienced it first hand. It's entirely not uncommon and really never has been, the fact that people can attempt to make the issue different somehow, Because it was Man-woman And not woman man, That speaks deeply into gender bias.
How many men do you believe have been sexually assaulted and never came forward because all of the universes see it differently when it happens to a man?
I'm willing to bet I'm not even the only one here..
I mean it's hard to accept, Not everyone will see my reasoning. But, I feel the old and feeble should be afforded a little bit of mercy. Not entirely mind you. I just don't feel old sick people should have to experience the same severities of punishments as young fit people... What justice can be derived from persecuting a man so close to death.. It would feel empty to me..No one mentioned gender, Shadowprophet.
In reference to the part of your post that I bolded, above....
That's because the offender keeps getting away with it and the victims tend to pile up after a while.
3 years ago my daughter Debbie escaped from a creeper that wanted to sexually assault her. Today she still deals with some of that trauma Rikki and I have seen what even a close call can do to a woman. As for the creeper his stay in prison is never long enough. As I said when it happened I had to restrain myself from doing something stupid.Obviously you've never been sexually assaulted. The laws are no where near harsh enough especially where children are concerned.
