Sea levels could rise by TWICE as much as scientists had predicted by 2100 swallowing entire cities and putting the lives of millions at risk!

I thought the end was supposed to be by Fire , Nuclear holocaust / Asteroid hit and all that.

Yeah this would be the end of the world for all the coastal and inner coastal cities but a volcano might go off before this happens, or even an steroid could hit before 2100...

Honestly I think an asteroid hit is more likely than a world flood...

What gets me though are these climate researchers are in the pro-global warming camp, they want the Paris agreement shackles on us...Their predictions years ago are falling flat now they stir the pot and start surfacing with more 'dire' predictions...

Well I keep mentioning about Al Gore buying a mansion by the sea so that to me says it all. A lot of so called 'climatologists' raking in some heavy cash with their climate change scare mongering.

I've lost all faith in the so-called experts regarding climate change. Neil Degrasse Tyson is cut from the same cloth as Al Gore and Bill Nye. He expects us to believe every aspect of climate change theory (which by the way is theory, not fact) without question but then completely changes his tune regarding the possibility of alien visitation of the earth. In this Stephen Colbert interview he laughs it up like a juvenile spoiled brat and makes fun of every point Colbert tries to make.

Shouldn't we prepare for the worse but hope for the best? If even one quarter of the predicted disasters due to climate change come to pass, and we do nothing to try and stop it. We are making a pretty awful future for our kids.
It is like the bible, I don't believe in a supreme being, but at least some of the rules for living in the bible are not bad ones to live by. Same with protecting our environment. The steps required to slow down climate change, ignoring if you believe in it or not, are still pretty sensible things to be doing to look after our planet.
I think we are going to be the most hated generations of all time by our descendants. Wars and war mongers like Hitler killed millions of people, we might be killing our planet. Who is worse?

It all depends on how much the current short warming trend affects the sea level rise......it is entirely possible that the rise will happen much faster before it ends in the near geologic future.

Neiren or something close to that spelling is a dedicated member of the CAGW (Cult of Anthropogenic Glocal Warming). He is also the head of the UCB group that produces sea level estimates from satellite data.

As a dedicated climate cultist he believes fossil fuels are destroying the planet and must be stopped at any cost and if we have to sacrifice honesty, truth, and the integrity of science, that is a cheap price to pay, and besides more alarm means money to science.

Every few years he releases a new paper saying "we were measuring it all wrong and the sea level rise is worse than thought."

He was the one who pushed the addition of an adjustment for the estimated sinking of the sea floor, converting an already exaggerated sea level rise measurement, to an estimated change in ocean volume (an estimate isn't a measurement).

This turned the UCB sea level rise estimates from bullshit to complete bullshit.

A real sea level rise measurement is the change in sea height compared the reference geoid, and that is simply not what the GMSL number means.

The UCB GMSL is best regarded as an index of sea level rise instead of an actual measurement (since it isn't actually a measurement).

To convert the UCB GMSL to actual sea level, first subtract 0.3 mm/year then multiply by 0.6.
