As Above So Below
Humanoid Being with Reptilian Morphology

Alberto drew attention to a strange noise that seemed to come from outside.

In the darkness, we seemed to perceive vaguely a silhouette climbed the high fence and, suspecting the presence of a thief, we provided ourselves with a torch directed resolutely and irresponsibly to the park, ready to face the stranger. But we did not do it.

Then it was there.

A humanoid being, maybe a little less than a meter with seventy centimeters of height and strong build, but with a strange reptilian morphology. Maybe it was completely human but his head, with pointed ears and very bright, reddish eyes, accentuated that impression.

When the light beam of the flashlight hit it, the entity turned its face towards us. Despite the brightness and coloration, its gaze was strangely human. I do not think we shouted because in some fleeting moment it passed through our mind to be only victims of a hallucination, perhaps caused by the fumes of sulfur.

But that thing was still there.

At that moment, the light from the backyard of the adjoining house lit up. Cropped his shadow against the light, we saw a man - surely the owner of the house - go out to his own park. Perhaps the same noise had awakened him and, still bewildered, he went out to investigate.

The entity shook the fence on which it was climbing once more and we noticed what was causing the sound that caught our attention: one of the lower extremities had caught on the wire and the being was shaking his foot, foot? , trying to free it. Just as I had seen many times dogs or cats entangled in similar wires.

Surprisingly he let go.

With a strong impulse, it rose above the fence and fell on the other side, perhaps to escape the nuisance of our light bulb. We heard then the drowned cry of the neighbor, who had just approached enough to identify the creature, while it ran parallel to the fence, climbed the party wall and disappeared on an adjoining roof. The engineer, meanwhile, had returned running on his steps, and we did exactly the same.

We remained arguing until dawn, even long after the parents of my friend returned, to whom we told them absolutely nothing. The reason was more than obvious: would anyone believe such a story?

The explanation of what was seen, however, appeared very simple: our own invocations, our erroneous or perhaps incomplete knowledge of occult ritual had called "something" that appeared untimely and completely free of our control. The speed with which the events took place and our own confusion meant that at the moment of witnessing the creature we did not execute the corresponding steps and now it would have escaped our domain.

During the following days I remained in constant telephone contact with Alberto. I was extremely struck by the fact that, despite my insistent requests that I visit the engineer to check impressions, my friend always found evasive for such an encounter, besides being subject to a kind of permanent stupor or apathy.

For a while I thought that what happened was explainable-if there was an explanation-strictly within the scope of the mystical, if not the psychological.

I remember the case of "Case Santa Isabel", which happened in the Argentine province of Córdoba, and analyzed by doctor Oscar Galíndez and his team of the magazine "OVNIs, a Challenge to the Science". The episode dates from 1972 and deals with the operator of an automotive plant that in the early hours of the morning, heading to the lavatories, meets this figure:

That resembled everything we saw!

It was there, in a publication of the reputed ones as "serious" in the ufological world, where this appearance -even devoid of any association with any luminous object- could be linked to the extraterrestrial hypothesis, was when I asked myself if, after all, there would be no common denominator between Occultism and Ovnilogy.

So many years later, my certainty is almost complete.

What leads me to close this note proposing a comparative study that goes beyond "Passport to Magonia"; a systematic experimentation from the ufological perspective and with its own parameters but fully focused within the field of the paranormal experience.
