Does anyone have special plans for New Years Eve? As usual my wife and I will be staying home. My wife normally can’t make it past 10PM. I will sit up and listen to the neighbors shooting off fireworks and I will have a dram or two of spirits.

Yeah I also will be having a couple shots or so of some spirits, and maybe a couple beers but not enough to get drunk... I just plan on staying at home just me and my dog, I'll probably stay at the midnight or so and has the ball drop it on the TV screen LOL..

Oh and I'll likely be here too on the Forum...

I doubt I'll make it to midnight and have a long day ahead of me on the 1st. But I'll tune in and complete sobriety is unlikely

we are preparing for a fun day! sledding snowboarding and a snow saucer!
snowball fights are on tap as my boys recall last year's snowball wars.
    then off to the grandparents.
Debbie and Brian have tickets to the frostiball. and Kate is attending a GLBT mixer.
the rest of us will settle in to watch "the lion king "(original)

    I work until 10:30 pm.
My plans for the coming year are retiring, selling off too many belongings and relaxing travel.

I'm in limbo for the night.

No desire for the next year other than a smooth time and staying safe.

    Christ it's upon me.

I'm mulling over much the same. I seem to be fully embracing the minimalism bug and have been "thinning" out much of the stuff that I've spent decades storing...and paying good money to do so out of a perceived concept that it meant something to me and it really doesn't. Think about it, if you left this Earth tomorrow ( and I hope you do actually stick around ) do you really want your closest people to be spending their money to do the same or contrawise to be trashing it or giving it away ?

I'm taking the initiative and giving many of my in needed possessions I really don't want away and/or digitalizing them for posterity's sake then jettisoning the hard copies

Happy New Years guys and I'll catch you in the new decade. I can't wait for the census !!

I think I've said this here before, but my will's intent is to have every cool thing I own fed into an industrial grinder and my relatives will each receive a pail containing equal amounts of tiny little shavings. Everyone gets treated the same, nothing to fight over.

Yeah it's about the same for me, not a negative vibe with it either, just turning the page without expectation, and recharging the batteries...

And our president sometimes so suddenly barks during the New Year's message that even my brain goes back in place! It is not accepted to fan from authorities in Russia, but I feel great about Mr. Putin! During his speech feel all the significance of the present moment! Aaa, he is so cool!
