Hi Nivek, hope you're well my friend. ... I watched the first two episodes of this eagerly awaited programme last night, and have to report that I was very pleased with the offering and can't wait until the next episode. I have been aching to see this show since it was announced ... still don't understand why Mando and Boba Fett came before Obi? ... but nevertheless I loved both of those two as well. I'm not sure if it's just my imagination but I somehow got the impression that this latest outing of the Star Wars franchise has had an injection of budget and production quality? .. but that may just be down to my deep fondness of the character and the jubilation that I felt because my favourite Jedi was finally back! ... And suffice to say that "he did not disappoint!" ... Ewan McGregor was at last, back where he should be... playing the role that he was born to play, ... [the surrogate Alec Guinness] ... and though I would term the first episode as being a bit of a scene-setting-slow-boiler, the second raised the pace excellently and left me with the firm expectancy that the trajectory will be maintained in future episodes.
All in all... so far, it's a big thumbs up from me and as I said, "can't wait for episode three!

Cheers Buddy.

Hello 1963, tonight I finally watched this mini series, and you were absolutely right, this is a good series...I binge watched the first 5 episodes (I think there's 6 total?) and enjoyed every episode...Leia seemed a bit out of place but wow, Darth Vader was played true to form and ruthless as ever lol...It is wonderful to see Ewan McGregor be Obi Wan Kenobi again and I think he nailed it...The reviews I've read are wrong, IMO, this is a good Star Wars series...q37

Watching Obi wan Kenobi go on the offense against Darth Vader was a sight to see, the fight of the century in episode six...

If you don't want to watch the entire episode and just see the fight, then here it is...q37

Hi Nivek, I couldn't argue with anything you said, even the point that they made young Leia a tad 'too smart' [as in the original trilogy she was basically 'just Princess Leia'... and nothing special in the smarts department. ... The rest of the programme is without doubt 'a blooming good show'! ... Just watched the last episode last night and am glad to say that it didn't disappoint as so many other series are spoiled right at the end by means of an anti-climatic finish... or a unnecessary plot-twist. The epic 'battle of the forces' between Obi and Darth was well done [the only spoiler being that we knew that neither of them could have died] ... The real sadness of that being the season finale episode is that [for now anyway] the production team are still holding back on saying that there will be a follow-up season, because it was always planned to be a stand alone spin-off series! ... However since the programme has been something of a ratings success according to 'Nielsen' [at least in the U.S anyway, actually slightly topping the ratings for 'Stranger Days 4'] ... and the fact that the series holds a 8.4 viewers rating on both IMDB and did well on Rotten Tomatoes.... plus the main cast members McGregor , Christensen etc are all keen to carry on.... i'm pretty hopeful! ... btw, I thought that the un-billed cameo from Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon Jinn was cool. [though I was expecting a similar cameo from Master Yoda... but I suspect that the producers thought that it would be over-egging the pudding with there being so much of Grogu (baby yoda) on the Mandalorian!] ... fetching Ian McDiarmid [Darth Sidious] was spot on too imo.
...All in all, I highly recommend the programme and can't wait for a follow-up... maybe next year?

Cheers Buddy.

‘Star Wars’ Fan Edits ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Into a Two-Hour Movie to Fix ‘Awkward Pacing’

Obi-Wan Kenobi: The Patterson Cut

(Excerpt)

“Obi-Wan Kenobi” ran for six episodes on Disney+, but for many fans and critics that was simply too long. While everyone was happy to see Ewan McGregor back as the iconic Jedi, not every “Star Wars” fans agreed on the pacing of the story or the main plotline that sent Obi-Wan on an adventure to save a young Princess Leia from Darth Vader. One “Star Wars” fan, Kai Patterson, has gone viral on social media for editing the Disney+ series into a single two-hour-and-30-minute movie.

“The ‘Obi-Wan’ show, in my opinion, suffered from things that were easily fixable in the script and in the edit,” Patterson writes about his decision to create the fan edit, which is streaming now on his personal website. “Awkward pacing, whole scenes that ultimately amounted to nothing, goofy dialogue and directing choices, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and change what I could. I want to be very clear, this is my own artistic interpretation of how these scenes could be strung together to make something that works better for me personally.”

I watched this today and enjoyed this Patterson cut...It flowed well and trimmed the fat from the 6+ hours of the mini-series, this has the pace of the prequel movie trilogy now...I think this edited version is well done...
