I've never shared this so bare with me if it seems crazy, as I'm not even sure if it was real — it seemed real but shoot I can't be certain. I'm 34 now and this happened when I was 13 so there has been some time passed and this is all to the best of my recollection.
I have always been someone who experiences sleep paralysis, I've had it as long as I can remember. It used to scare the shit out of me but around 10 or 11 I saw a discovery channel show that mentioned it. I never experienced any feelings of someone in the room with me or an entity sitting on my chest, it was always pretty straight forward stuff. Anyway when I was 10 my family moved into a new house that was built in the 1950's in the ranch house style — single story, flat roof, big windows. It gave me creepy vibes from the second we moved in, doors would open by themselves, the floor would creek as if someone was walking when no one was, windows would shake when no wind was present... This place was haunted or at least I convinced myself it was. I hated being left alone there and anytime I was alone all this stuff seemed to turn up to 11 and freak the shit out of me.
What is really odd was my mother and two younger brothers always laughed at me when I mentioned these things, apparently I was the only one who saw this stuff. Now I've always been into the paranormal, ever since I checked out a UFO book from the school library when I was in first grade, so maybe I was just more open to these things? But when I turned 12 things got real weird.
I began to suffer from chronic nightmares of being kidnapped and was having sleep paralysis bouts several times a week. My sleep wasn't restorative and I began to experience fatigue throughout the day. I was legit scared that a ghost was trying to kill me or at least take me over. One night I remember waking up and hearing creaking leading into my room and the door opened — hell no and I closed my eyes. After a few seconds I opened them and thankfully nothing was there. Maybe this was a draft? I don't know but it freaked me out good. This stuff sort of just kept happening ebbing and flowing until it all popped off when I was 13.
I was a recent 13 year old and it was a few weeks before school was starting up again in late August. This happened on an early Saturday morning I woke up in the worst sleep paralysis I had to date, it felt like I was flying my eyes couldn't even open and my body tingled all over. Finally when I fought my way out of the grips I tilted my head ever so slightly and hovering above the foot of my bed was this short brown entity. It didn't even acknowledge me and simply turned around and floated out my door and out through the living room. I just remember looking at the clock, seeing it was 5am then falling back asleep. When I woke up I remembered the experience but told myself it was just a dream. It wasn't a dream, at least I don't think so.
Later I became familiar with the abduction phenomenon and that hit me like a ton of bricks because the brown entity looked an awfully lot like the Gray aliens of pop culture lore. Also that scumbag Joe Montaldo told me that I had definitely been abducted and that the brown ones are the worst because the eat humans. I didn't take him seriously but I have to admit that freaked me out a bit.
I don't know if what happened to me was some ghost deal, alien abduction, or simply a sleep paralysis nothing burger. It has stuck with me for life and it freaks me out to think about it to this day. I have never told anyone about this and I apologize if it sounds like a rambling mess.
