I'll let you in on a little secret I'm a little ashamed of. yesterday I got a "friend" request from somebody that I thought I was a friend of so I accepted it and within minutes she was jumping in on messenger asking me "how was I" and things of that sort. Very strange I thought but it wasn't long before she started "teasing" me about how she got a very exciting message from "a very vague source" emphasis mine about how she won $200,000 from an unexpected unknown source" she was so vague I was starting to get a little concerned about her, maybe she was "loosing" it (she's older and her husband passed on) I was worried for her. She gave me a # to text to and I'd get good news. At this point I started trying to get myself out of a very uncomfortable situation, something was wrong. I canceled my Facebook messenger account with her and then I searched for her account on Facebook and saw she had two accounts! I went to her regular Facebook account and boom ! She had several messages from friends saying her account was hacked!
So it seems there was no damage down, he/she wouldn't have gotten any info from me that wasn't visible to millions of others if they happened to click on my page. But I was a little ashamed at how easily I was led astray. How easy it was. Yes, right off the bat I noticed some irregularities in her messages and such (I'm trying to come up with a way to display the convo.) but I still stayed hooked for a bit. Not because I had a text # with a chance to be given $200,000 but because it appeared a friend had given her name and number to the wrong person and it was going to cost her.
