Blade Runner 2049
Even after all those years I still find the original intriguing, memorising.
This shares the sense of immersion in another world but the story is pedestrian.
Perhaps I've lost my sense of technological wonder or technological wonder is the new mundane.

The original Dracula 1931 shows what they could do way back then to entertain and keep the audience horrified without any blood or gore.

I liked this movie, it really sets the tone for the Planet of the Ape movies to follow and keeps the taste of the original movies with an introduction of the non-speaking human called Nova and Cornelius the chimpanzee...I always liked the original ape movies and this one was well done...

Mother!
Javier Bardem as a charismatic blocked writer renovating a house with his new wife.
It becomes increasingly surreal with his habit of inviting strangers and fans into their home.
A cast to die for (Jennifer Lawrence, Ed Harris, and Michelle Pfeiffer) draws you in but it shifts to something quite strange and allegorical (blocked writer, god seeking creative inspiration).

Saw the new Pirates of the Caribbean a week ago. Certainly does not have that mysterious ambience and atmosphere as the previous ones, but Jack was funny so 8.9/10

Apollo

Stephen King's "IT"

Better adaptation of the book than the 1990's mini series. Much creepier.

9.5/10

Nosferatu the Vampyre. Klaus Kinski 1979 . Creepy excursion into the world of Vampirism and Kinski is a natural for this part.

I watched my new Blu Ray copy of VALERIAN and The City Of A Thousand Planets last night. I must admit that the first opening scenes of the planet Mul were so breathtakingly beautiful it left me really stunned it caught me unawares . Its quite an emotional experience when taking into account the tragic scenes that quickly follow this introduction to the Pearls. 4.5 out of 5.
