Yes it does......but not all the sand in the area would be affected.

Think about it for a second. UFO hunters flock to Area 51. The press flocks to Area 51. Film makers flock to Area 51. They make everybody believe they house things of extraterrestrial origin there to make people look there while all the real stuff is hidden elsewhere. It's the perfect smoke screen. It's not hard to outfit a UH-60 Black Hawk with bright lights and put on a show for the UFO hunters while the real thing is 20 miles in the other direction. You really think they are going to keep things as sensitive as an extraterrestrial craft right where people frequently are watching? Not a chance.

Looks like there are wires in 20% or so of the craters......and numerous others have darker erosional features.

Still don't see any charred material.
