Seems that way and I wouldn't be putting any money on that happening in the near future.

Not just aliens and UFOs, but the decline in reported Paranormal stories and experiences, ghosts, strange occurances and so on also seems to be on the decline... Here's an interesting British article, seems to have been written early this year:

NO SPOOKS ON THE AIRWAVES – THE DECLINE AND FALL OF GHOSTS AS A TOPIC FOR BBC RADIO

Long ago talks and discussions of ghosts and ghost hunting were a feature of BBC radio, with the subject being covered seriously. Sadly, the treatment of the subject has now declined down to a purely humorous level, if ever mentioned at all.

Well....there's no decline on US television. Ghost hunting shoes are more popular than ever.
Even Rob Lowe has gotten into the act with an on the road show investigating all manner of paranormal things.
And there are at least 5 or 6 haunted ghost houses ..etc reality type shows currently on cable.

In Australia, as I mentioned before, there is an escalating interest in Haunted Houses and Haunted Sites as far as ghosts go... but no real interest in other types of paranormal or other ghost type experiences...

There's an old Academy about 15 minutes walk away from me and it's become very popular over the last few years as far as Ghost Hunting tours and overnight ghost stays goes... but that's all... very little about the general type of personal paranormal experiences and ghost stories outside of these 'organised' money making Ghost Hunting tv shows or organised (you pay for it) Ghost Hunting tours in private and public Haunted Houses and Haunted Sites.

    Bit of a bummer....

That's a fine line...it's just a different type of approach to the paranormal lately but plenty of it imho. There are several bigfoot shows also and 'unexplained mystery' shows also.
What other types of paranormal are you referring to? What do you mean by other ghost experiences?

True... I once joined a Believers Forum which had just started at the time where if you disagreed or your questions to someone's alien experience were considered to be even slightly negating that experience, you were banned...

Needless to say, that forum didn't last long because most people soon stopped posting (or were banned) and any replies you did see were all agreeing with each other... it was all very strange and rather tedious and boring... lol...

I guess I mean anacdotal stuff, on a layman's every day level... like seeing ghosts in the street, or in your house or coming across them in some place... stuff like that....

That so called Haunted House, the old Academy close by my place may not really be haunted but more of a tourist trap... you wouldn't know...

Those tv shows would need to 'produce' some sort of 'evidence' or 'excitement', tense moments, even if it's contrived to justify not only the cost of the show, but to attract a watching audience...

No watchers, no sponsors equals no tv show...

Oh,, those hounted houses shows, makes me wanna $/%=÷×+;:^&_*£

Especially when they use fringe equipment , like blinking scanning devices with telescope antennas or trying
to record imaginary voices in the middle of the nights..

Think any ghosts evacuate the premises in good time, hahaha

I agree no shortage of paranormal areas in the US for the shows to go to.....but they also go to Europe and the UK. The show ghost hunters international usually only went to places with a ghost or maybe a few. Why don't they go to places like the Somme or Treblinka if they want ghosts.

Gosh... the forum keeps logging me out and having problems staying in... so fingers crossed, here goes, I hope...

Totally agree.... some of those Paranormal tv shows sure are laughable... Even to someone as non scientific as I am much of looks contrived, fake as well as scripted... As for the crypo shows, they're no better and Ancient Aliens are not only demeaning towards Cultures of times gone past, but also show an ignorance of some of the beliefs, ways of ancient people and their societies...

I better not get started too much lest I need to put a plug in it to stop my mouth and brain from moving...

Hopefully I won't get logged out again... did the cache and cookie cleanout about 7 times already...lol...

I tried watching one of those shows once and lasted maybe 3 episodes before I almost died of bored confusion... I couldn't figure out what it was the heck they were doing or suppose to be doing.... and those times when they claim they either heard a ghost or saw one I was still none the wiser no matter how many times the cameras and lights were shone on them or the volume turned up...

It's tv shows like that is what helps towards making the ghost and paranormal topic laughable by turning it into a comedy of sorts... or maybe the ghosts don't like being filmed....

Then there's the notion out there that as a modern day Society we're now more scientifically and technology orientated so we have all matured and realised that the Paranomal with all it's ghosts is all delusional made up stuff, same like spiritual matters and beliefs of the past are...

The side effect of today materialistic lifestyle maybe?

I only just now had time to address your mysterious issue dr wu, there are numerous glitches I've been addressing this past weekend since doing some updates, perhaps you should have started a thread in the appropiate forum or waited for me to reply to your pm before going off topic in this thread with this...No one is ignoring you dr wu and no one is trying to get rid of you...

I understand......you're right in that one does not hear much about random ghost events. It seems to be that people go to these locations and then look for ghosts. It's certainly being done for cable tv and dollars.

My apologies for going 'off topic'......it was an odd type of lock out glitch and no one else mentioned it so I assumed it was only on my end. Glad to know that I'm not being booted.

Another interesting case with anecdotal evidence by multiple witnesses. A classic case according to many.

Was this an 'alien craft' or is there a prosaic explanation?

Thank's for this, I was going to post this article tonight, its a good read...From this I take away one thing that I pondered over, if a species is so advanced to travel the stars or even across dimensions to reach this world, putting aside for the moment of the reasons why they would come here, if they are so advanced and try to stay hidden from us, don't you think they are doing a pretty good job at it?...

If the question is are advanced aliens doing a good job of staying hidden......I would say not really, because they are seen all the time flying their craft around and are seen abducting people who recall their abductions. I would think that they could do a better job at not being seen. At times it seems like they want to be seen when they buzz populated areas and why do they allow any 'abductee's to recall anything? We have drugs for some years now that can completely block recall....I know because I have had two surgeries where they were used and I don't recall anything even though I was told I was conscious and once in a twilight state. So are we to assume then that these technologically advanced aliens aren't capable of the same thing? It is odd in many ways which is why some like Dr Vallee question excactly what type of phenomena we are dealing with.

I agree -- assuming the alien abduction phenomenon is real, they're not doing a good job staying hidden. Most of the technology we rely on as humans has been created in only the last 200 years. Alien visitors may be using technology and knowledge that is millions of years old. Of course they could remain completely hidden if they really wanted to. I believe they are trying to slowly and gradually reveal themselves on a limited basis to prepare us for full disclosure.

And I certainly agree with Vallee's assertion that our knowledge of alien visitations is not where it should be because of the stigma attached to it. Because the study of possible alien contact is not undertaken on a serious basis the way it should be, the area is left open to the speculators who tout their own theories, sometimes with a cult-like following.
