there is actually a second picture nivek forgot to upload from the same sighting, wich shows two conventional saucers not attached to anything

That's actually the top edge of the photograph I believe...This craft flew over the water towards the shoreline before the image was taken...

I assume he didn't take pictures of it there?

Bruno Ghibaudi, a scientific journalist who on April 27, 1961 was shocked to see this utterly bizarre 'flying machine' approach him rapidly from over the ocean, pass overhead and then jet off northward out of sight. Bruno managed to snap one picture of it before it zipped away.

Marshal Di Francesco, of Carabinieri Command Group (at that time located in the central Nicola Fabrizi street) with whom I had good relations within the framework of my activities reporter, called me by phone to the office in Pescara on the same day that saw the article regarding the alleged sighting by Ghibaudi, and asked to me to go to his office.
He showed me the article and asked to me for an opinion on the veracity of the article and photographs published showing objects flying above the beach in Pescara. My answer was not a conclusive "NO", even though my gut told me that this was some badly done orchestrated BS. Anyway i expressed my doubts about the reliability of the sighting. Di Francesco, however, had already decided the news was false and could create issues to public order. Then the author was charged. The marshal told me that the "flying saucer" was nothing but a model that in those days was for sale in the toy area of Standa in Corso Vittorio Emanuele. (NOTE: Standa is an italian Supermatrket Chain)
The marshal had already compared the object in the picture with the model and had no doubts it was the same.
I went immediately to Standa in order to make my own comparisons and actually the toy was exactly the same as the photo published.
Then i wrote an article regarding the hoax, but strangely enough it was NEVER published. Days after the Marshall called me back and told me that "we never talked about the case". I've decided to come clean because i've learned that a book claiming the autenticity of the photo is to be published....
Actually, the article is longer, but this is the most relevant part.
Notice that Ghibaudi, the author of the photo, wrote also two books about "flying models":

Btw...he guy whom took the photo 'Bruno Ghibaudi' was by no means a one-off stranger to the UFO phenomenon, he actually wrote three books on the subject and appeared as an authority on a number of documentaries on Italian TV
.... so not just an innocent bystander that got a lucky snap then .

Searched 28.2 billion photos this is the only one I can find. Not to say there isn't another out there. I think it is a childs toy myself.

while originally believing this case to be the real deal, i later saw a analysis that proved it was a clay pigeon

looks like the real deal, i remenber a mayor from germany that saw a almost identical object landed with ufonauts

take all these nazi ufo pictures with a grain of salt, i believe all them to be fake, in this one UFO is out of place and shadow looks artificial

BLURFO, could be anything really, most likely dirt in the negative

that higher part of the dome, looks convenient for hanging from a wire

first picture is the famous los angelles battle, while it was a real ufo incident, this picture was retouched to add a disc ufo in the center of the spotlights
second picture is interesting, was taken at the time of the hudson valley wave too

cant identify object, though it doesnt looks like a bonafide ufo either
