Yes, I think they sound just like the Beatles and ELO combined. Klaatu was a Canadian band that was around in the 70s. I had never heard of them until today. Apparently this song is used in the new show Mindhunter. Also, the Carpenters covered this song about a year after its original release. I had never heard the Carpenters version of the song either.

I read there was supposed to be a lot of symbolism on that Klaatu record album cover pertaining that it was the Beatles.
