Psaki Reminds Reporters That Biden Doesn't Speak For The President Of The United States

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In a tense press conference Monday, Press Secretary Jen Psaki faced pointed questions about several Biden misstatements that led to chaos during his trip overseas. Psaki quickly reassured the gathered press that Biden doesn't speak for the President of the United States.

"The President has clearly said, and we agree, that Joe Biden does not speak for this administration," said Psaki to the confused reporters. "Nothing said by Biden should be misconstrued to reflect the official foreign policy of the President. This administration has been clear from the beginning, that we have always been clear about what we have been clear about, clearly."

"But Jen!" said a feisty Peter Doocy, "Don't you think these inconsistent statements could cause World War III and unleash CRT on our kids all at once? Why did Biden have to walk back his statements?"

"We would like to walk back the statement that we have ever walked back any statements," said a frustrated Psaki. "But if you find any statements that we have walked back let me know and we'll circle back later to walk back our walk-back."

Sources say Biden is now in his basement on tranquilizers until the administration can clarify what statements need to be walked back.

Government spending to blame for inflation spike, San Francisco Fed study says

Ask Democrats and Republicans what is to blame for high U.S. inflation, and they would point their fingers at extremely different culprits.

While the White House has identified supply-chain bottlenecks and other pandemic-induced disruptions in the economy for the recent price spike, GOP lawmakers have pinned it on the president's massive spending agenda.

But now researchers at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco are weighing in on the topic – and they say that massive government spending during the coronavirus pandemic has caused U.S. inflation to surge more than in other developed economies.

In the span of just two years, Congress unleashed a torrent of federal money to shield the economy from the coronavirus pandemic, approving roughly $6 trillion in relief measures. Lawmakers approved about $2 trillion under Biden and $4.1 trillion under former President Trump, according to a COVID money tracker published by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonpartisan organization based in Washington.

The majority of the money allocated for emergency spending — close to $4 trillion — stemmed from two pieces of legislation: the CARES Act, passed in March 2020, and the American Rescue Plan, passed in March 2021. The remaining money came from the Response and Relief Act (December 2020), Families First Coronavirus Response Act (March 2020) and the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act (April 2020).

The exodus from LIBERAL US CITIES is gaining speed: NY (-378K), LA (-176K), SF (-116K), CHICAGO (-92K), S JOSE (-43K)

The pattern here is clear. Americans are fleeing highly-regulated, highly taxed areas and flocking to freer states. America’s largest metro areas saw massive declines in population, new US Census Bureau data show.

Three of the top five metros that saw sharp declines between July 1, 2020, and July 1, 2021 were in California. Leading the way was the Los Angeles-Long Beach metropolitan area, which lost 176,000 residents, a 1.3 percent drop. Next was the San Francisco-Oakland-Berkeley metro, which saw a decline of 116,000 residents (2.5 percent decline), followed by San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, which shed some 43,000 residents (2.2 percent drop).

“We are in this new demographic era for California of very slow or maybe even negative growth,” Hans Johnson, a demographer with the Public Policy Institute of California, told the Los Angeles Times. “And it does have implications for everything in our state — from how we live our lives to which schools are getting closed down to how much capacity we might need for transportation networks, and eventually to housing.”

California metros had company, however. The New York-Newark-New Jersey metropolitan area saw a decline of 328,000 residents, the highest in the nation in raw numbers. The Chicago area, meanwhile, saw a decline of some 92,000 residents.

But are they changing their attitudes? If not, they'll just start ruining someplace else.

Frankly, at some point we may have to flee New York or at least the southeast part of it. There has been an exodus from NYC north and this area has seen a lot of growth because we're in a good commuting area. At least it means we'll probably get a good price for the house when we leave. In the mean time the traffic has doubled, school taxes are going up and they've even added MTA surcharges to those close enough to the rail lines.

If Biden really wanted to lower gas prices he would drill more oil and allow the keystone pipeline to resume operations...Electric cars aren't affordable to the average Joe...

Biden blames COVID AND Putin for high gas prices, admits it's 'hard to tell' when they will go down | Daily Mail Online

President Joe Biden said Thursday that record gas prices were caused by the pandemic and Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine as he unveiled a two-pronged plan to increase supply and reduce demand.

He announced he would release a million barrels of oil per day from the nation's strategic reserve for the next six months and accelerate the switch to electric vehicle. But his analysis of the cause of the crisis will attract criticism for opponents who accuse him of shifting the blame for his administration's economic woes.

'The problem we're facing with gas prices has two roots,' Biden told reporters at the White House. 'First, the pandemic. When COVID struck demand for oil plummeted so production slowed down worldwide.

'Because of the strength and the speed of recovery, demand for oil shot back up much faster than the supply. That's why the cost of gas began to rise last year. 'The second root is Vladimir Putin.'

At the start of the year the price of a gallon was about about $3.30, he continued, while today it is averaging about $4.22. 'Nearly a dollar more in less than three months,' he said. 'The reason for that is because of Putin's war.'

In Los Angeles, drivers are paying more than $6 a gallon. The result has contributed to spiraling inflation and a disastrous series of poll numbers for Biden, as Democrats prepare for difficult midterm elections.

The White House has been desperately seeking a fix, and Biden unrolled his proposals on Thursday afternoon.

It will include asking Congress to impose fines on gas companies that aren't producing energy from public land, as he seeks to tackle record prices at the pumps.

At the same time he will use the wartime Defense Production Act to accelerate the switch to electric cars, according to senior administration officials, by producing materials needed for high-capacity batteries.

Switching to electric vehicles, said Biden, would bring big savings for motorists. 'Under my plan, which is before the Congress now, we can take advantage of the next generation of electric vehicles,' he said. 'That typical driver will save about $80 a month from not having to pay gas at the pump.'

A handy saving for drivers of electric vehicles which sell for an average of more than $56,000, according to the Kelley Blue Book - $10,000 more than conventional vehicles.

If electric cars were suddenly affordable to the average person, then that would trigger a massive energy crisis of its own. At this point in time, there can only be a privileged few using electric cars as, consumer cost considerations aside, no country in the world has the energy generating capacity to suddenly switch to electric cars in place of internal combustion-engined ones.

Agreed, at least in the US, the electrical grid infrastructure needs major work if they want to promote electric cars on a massive scale...Then how is this going green as the electric companies use an abundance of coal and natural gas to create electricity, offset one type of use of fossil fuels for another...

I wonder how the transition from horse and buggy to internal combustion engine vehicles was when gasoline cars were making their way to the roads...Did it start in the cities and gradually spread to rural areas since I'm sure gasoline stations were sparse as well as paved roads...

Nuclear energy is very clean. There are these new Thorium reactors, but nobody wants to put up money to develop the tech.

In UK the same electric cars are at least 50% more expensive then in US.

Biden blames Putin and US oil companies for the rising prices making Americans' lives miserable, but the TRUTH is that runaway inflation is his own fault - and a new chart decisively proves it, writes former restaurant empire CEO ANDY PUZDER

Runaway inflation - much more than just gas prices alone - is depleting the savings of hard-working Americans. And now we can now say definitively that Biden's massive government spending - not war in Ukraine or greedy US corporations - is largely responsible for inflation. A new San Francisco Federal Reserve study released this week contains a chart showing that U.S. inflation spiked in early 2021 at almost precisely the same moment that Biden signed his massive $1.9 trillion Covid 'relief' bill. The study, titled 'Why Is U.S. Inflation Higher than in Other Countries?' compares inflation in the U.S. to inflation in other Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries. You can literally see the inflationary impact of Biden's $1.9 trillion debacle. U.S. inflation exploded U.S. from below 2% in early 2021 to nearly 5% at the end of 2021, unlike the average in Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the U.K.

SCOTUS nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson gave lenient sentences even in child porn cases involving infants and APOLOGIZED to one defendant, court transcripts show

Newly revealed transcripts have shed light on controversial child pornography sentences handed down by Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson during her time as a US district judge. At issue are eight child porn cases that Jackson oversaw as a DC district judge between 2013 and 2021, which Senate Republicans seized on in recent hearings to paint the nominee as soft on sex offenders. The transcripts, described by the New York Post in a report on Saturday, show that Jackson disregarded prosecutors' sentencing recommendations even in some cases involving sickening abuse images of 'infants and toddlers' and in one case apologized to the defendant for handing down prison time. Daniel Savage, top left was sentenced to 60 months, while Wesley Hawkins, top right got three months. Neil Stewart, bottom left got 57 months while Lucas Cane got 60 months. All these sentences were less than recommended.

Energy groups target Biden administration over unwillingness to expand domestic oil production

Two American energy groups are targeting the Biden administration over its dismissal of domestic oil and gas production, one with a five figure ad purchase and another whose president will offer testimony before a Senate committee next week.

The American Energy Alliance launched a five figure ad campaign against President Biden and his administration for "sending mixed signals" when it comes to energy production in America.

The ad – titled "Which is it?" – features remarks from Biden, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, and U.S. special presidential envoy for climate John Kerry when they dismissed oil production in the United States and compares those statements to more recent remarks they have made regarding the importance of increasing oil supply.
