Biden, 81, did NOT take a cognitive test during physical because he 'doesn't need it': White House dismisses concerns about Joe's annual check-up

The White House confirmed President Joe Biden did not take a cognitive test during his annual physical on Wednesday, and insisted he 'doesn't need' one. Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre brushed aside concerns the 81-year-old is not fit for a second term and touted his record.

'Given that there's been so much scrutiny ... why not just have his doctor administer the test,' a reporter asked after Biden went to Walter Reed for his annual health check-up. She responded: 'Folks need to understand that the president passes a cognitive test every day!'

She dismissed the need for a cognitive, despite the Department of Justice calling him an 'elderly man with a poor memory' in the special counsel report on his mishandling of classified documents.

'His doctor, including the neurologist, do not believe that he needs one,' Jean-Pierre added. A team of 20 doctors, including the White House physician, were present for the exam at Walter Reed. 'That is their assessment,' she added.

Biden earlier joked that doctors 'think I look too young' while giving reporters an update on his annual physical.

Biden's bill of health: Annual check-up reveals more details about President's sleep apnea
President Joe Biden's annual physical revealed 'no new concerns' - but it shed more light on several health conditions suffered by the 81-year-old. Dr Kevin O'Connor said the 'most notable' change in the past year concerned Biden's sleep apnea - a disorder the President has had for 16 years and which is associated with an increased risk of dementia. The White House doctor said that last spring Biden began using of a mask that delivers pressurized air into the nose and mouth to make sure he breathes properly when he sleeps.

They are not migrants, they are 'newcomers': Biden faces fury over politically correct phrase for border crossers during historic crisis

The White House is catching flak for using a new politically correct term for illegal migrants coming across the southern border: Newcomers. The new term was unveiled in a little noticed 'fact sheet' on the White House website uploaded ahead of President Biden's trip to the border in Brownsville, Texas, Thursday. A $118 billion Senate foreign aid package - including $20 billion on border security measures - spectacularly fell apart earlier this month to the ire of the Biden administration.

Georgia lays down the law after Laken Riley’s death: Anyone in country illegally will be arrested

The Georgia Legislature passed a bill on Thursday that lets police arrest anyone suspected of entering the country illegally following the slaying of college student Laken Riley.

The state House voted 97-74 to also let law enforcement detain illegal immigrants for deportation.

The measure would require law enforcement to report to federal authorities when someone in custody is undocumented. Not adhering to that portion of the bill could cause local governments to lose state funding or federal funding.

Georgia’s legislation follows the death of Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student killed on the University of Georgia campus in Athens. Police arrested and charged 26-year-old Jose Ibarra with murder and assault.

Immigration authorities say Mr. Ibarra, a Venezuelan, entered the country illegally in 2022.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement had detained Mr. Ibarra but later released. He then was arrested in New York and charged with acting in a manner to injure a child but was again released before ICE could ask local law enforcement to take him into custody.

Outrage has followed in the wake of Riley’s death, with Republicans especially underscoring the shortcomings of President Biden’s immigration policies and demanding he use executive measures to shutter the U.S./Mexico border.
