White House tells Americans not to believe 'ANYTHING' Putin says in Tucker Carlson interview and says Americans wholeheartedly support Ukraine aid

The White House has told Americans to 'not believe anything Vladimir Putin says' during his highly anticipated interview with Tucker Carlson.

Carlson, 54, announced that he would be interviewing the Russian leader earlier this week, with the interview set to go live tonight on X at 6pm Eastern (11pm London).

The former Fox News firebrand, who has been a vocal opponent of US military aid for Ukraine, made the announcement after he was spotted leaving the Kremlin.

During the White House daily briefing on Thursday, Communications Coordinator John Kirby told reporters that Americans shouldn't believe anything Putin says.

Kirby said: 'Anybody that watches that interview you need to make sure to remember that you are listening to Vladimir Putin. You shouldn't take at face value anything he has to say.'

It seemed to me that sometimes things were lost in translation:

08:38 — Putin: In 1654 — Blah blah blah blah blah
13:47 — Carlson: You're making the case that Ukraine, certainly parts of Ukraine, Eastern Ukraine, is in effect Russia — has been for hundreds of years. Why wouldn't you just take it when you became President 24 years ago. You have nuclear weapons. They don't. It's actually your land. Why did you wait so long?
14:05 — Putin: I'll tell you. I'm coming to that. This briefing is coming to an end. It might be boring, but it explains many things.
14:16 — Carlson: I just don't know how it's relevant.
14:17 — Putin: Good. Good. I'm so gratified that you appreciate that. Thank you.

I've watched only 50 minutes of that "interview", what a yawner so far, and a fair bit of ego stroking...Not sure when I'll watch the rest, no longer a high priority...

I do agree with one point, Ukraine should be kept neutral, no NATO membership ever...Keep that buffer to keep the peace, I don't see the problem with all parties agreeing in that...

I'm of the opposing opinion. The interview reveals just how out of cracked Putin is. I dunno who is scarier — him or Biden.
Also, had Ukraine already been in NATO, Russia wouldn't have dared to launch a single attack.

Given the history that Putin conveniently forgets to include, it looks to me like Russia has been trying to keep Ukraine out of NATO for the express purpose of keeping the option to invade open — and finally they did. After all his irrelevant historical rambling, Putin makes this rather obvious.

That said, the West isn't lily white when it comes to the situation either. It looks a lot like the MICs of both nations are just using Ukraine for target practice in order to benefit themselves.

As above, so bellow
I just want to check what that guy said in the video. Does anybody knows first hand that it is really a criminal offence to tweet that the last US election results were fraudulent?

CBS News fires journalist who investigated Bidens and 'SEIZES her personal notes and research' with union accusing network of violating her First Amendment rights

Catherine Herridge, a veteran reporter covering national security and intelligence, was among the hundreds of CBS employees who were laid off by parent company Paramount last week. In a statement on Thursday, SAG-AFTRA, the union representing CBS employees, said it 'strongly condemns CBS News' decision to seize Catherine Herridge's reporter notes and research from her office, including confidential source information.' However, CBS denied claims that it had improperly seized Herridge's private files and told DailyMail.com that it planned to return the materials to her.
