I've said my piece on this thread but will keep reading as Gene's shenanigans are fascinating.Like watching someone bursting zits or removing maggots from people's bodies on YouTube,it's distasteful but hypnotic!.

Yes he has looked at this arrangement, But as you say the waiting list is very long, one would hope he has at least put himself on the lists. But the last time we spoke he had looked at several near him and it was going to be a long wait. Too long to be of any practical value now.

On the other hand the list of medicaid participating nursing homes i provided him do have beds available right now.

At 73 he says he qualify's for the nursing home option. It seems to be the most practical option all things considered.

Nope. If something is “substantially” true, it cannot be defamation. One of the requirements for something to be defamatory is that it is false.

Let me add this. If someone says something true about you and you sue, the person’s lawyer will, in response, have to state in the response, that what the person said about you is true. In some detail. And that will be public record. So all you will do is be putting this true statement in the public record for everyone to see. In short, you will be expanding the reach of the statement you are unhappy about.

Yeah, ive discussed his legal options with him.

He has none.

Many of his alleged "haters" are outside of US juristiction even if he did have a case against them.
The one individual who is known to him in real life who might have a case to answer, hasnt had any proceedings brought against him.

Gene cant afford these proceedings, in defamation the only winners are the lawyers, It would cost him a fortune to try and given his own history of judgements against him, it would be a messy and unlikely prospect to try.

It would be better to just stop what hes doing and go away, than to try and play defamation whack a mole over this.
He will never get them all, and frankly doesnt have much of a case against them anyway.

He knows he cant take anyone to court for the reasons ive outlined.

The threats are just attempts to make ppl feel sorry for him and give him money.

Its about painting a picture of some poor wretch, homeless and beset either side by stalkers and hackers.

Hes hoping if he can portray himself as the plucky underdog, ppl will donate to the cause

I haven't seen a single thing any of these alleged 'stalkers' have done that would warrant any type of suit to begin with. He's been pranked into thinking he was meeting with someone to give him a giant bag of cash, his landlord got sent flowers for having to deal with him, and someone made him think he was getting $20,000, but instead got 20,000 in Vietnamese currency worth about a dollar. I've seen more viciousness on old Candid Camera shows, lets be real.

Not to mention if Gene got a judgment for anything, its going straight to several landlords who have judgments against him. If anyone could be taken to civil court, it would be Gene for fraud for saying stuff like this:

The guy literally was using hurricane victims to try to solicit donations with a promise to give it back, as if he's just some payday loan middleman that will pass it along once you give it to him. When Art Bell died, the first thing he did was push his Paracast Plus stuff on his forums about his guests experience with him. He's nothing more than a selfish opportunist.

Perhaps Gene was a victim here. But as Gene has stated, does it matter at this point (except to the extent that Gene cites this as a reason for his troubles and the story he has given about a settlement is not supported)?

So I looked further. Bankruptcy records can be obtained by anyone through PACER. His 2016 bankruptcy stated that he and Barbara received around $1750 a month from social security. He averaged just over $1000 a month in profit from "The Paracast LLC." I don't see any records showing the Paracast is an LLC, but regardless I am not sure if this figure was limited to advertising or included donations.

As an aside, in response to criticism that he posted on a Kia Optima forum at the same time he was begging for money, Gene points out that he stopped driving that car and switched to a modest VW. The 2016 petition conforms that the Optima had been repossessed the year before (with a $12,000 debt), but he was driving a 2015 Passant with only 8500 miles on it (a total claim value of over $28,000, with over $14,000 unsecured).

Since then he has added Uber and Lyft. Perhaps social security has increased. But there is not much there. Still, as a beginning point, Gene needs to figure out how he can live within his means or increase his income short of begging since a perpetual emergency does not seem like a long term tactic - although it took several years to run it to the ground.

I sincerely wish that I could foresee a better outcome. It is sad. Senior homelessness is a growing problem. Many people are facing old age without adequate resources. I have older family members who are in difficult situations. Although Gene has some resources that others do not have (radio shows and a mailing list), I would not want to have his problems or his options at his age.

I used to feel it would have been better to use a patreon model rather than asking for temporary help in one emergency after another. I thought there were other projects he could pusue. I might even be tempted to help again if he had an exit plan. But Gene has burned through his credibility.

Gene states he has three jobs, but he has said this for the past ten years. Three jobs (plus begging) only means that there are three jobs that are not working out. It's time for him to make some hard choices, to stop portraying himself as a victim in need of legal help, to figure out why he is in this situation and to take personal responsibility. Then let's talk.

This is a bit spooky, i see i got card zero which was the name i signed up at the rockoids forum as.

The fool is the ultimate nihilist, the dog rips a chunk from his bum , even as he steps over the precipice with no care.

He knows all is illusion.

As Card 0, the Fool lies at the beginning of the major arcana, but also somewhat apart from the other cards. In medieval courts, the court jester was someone who was not expected to follow the same rules as others. He could observe and then poke fun. This makes the Fool unpredictable and full of surprises. He reminds us of the unlimited potential and spontaneity inherent in every moment. There is a sense with this card that anything goes - nothing is certain or regular. The Fool adds the new and unfamiliar to a situation.

I'm a little freaked out by this.................
