The European Parliament and Member States just reached an agreement on introducing the Digital Identity. Directly afterwards, EU Commissioner Breton said: "Now that we have a Digital Identity Wallet, we have to put something in it...", suggesting a connection between CBDC and Digital ID's.

Greta Thunberg's speech to thousands in Amsterdam is hijacked by man who told her 'I've come for a climate demonstration, not a political view' after she invited a Palestinian and an Afghan woman on stage

A Greta Thunberg speech was hijacked on Sunday by a man who grabbed the microphone and told her 'I've come for a climate demonstration, not a political view' after she invited a Palestinian and an Afghan woman onto the stage.

Ms Thunberg was talking to a crowd of tens of thousands in Amsterdam when she asked the women to join her on the platform.

'As a climate justice movement, we have to listen to the voices of those who are being oppressed and those who are fighting for freedom and for justice. Otherwise, there can be no climate justice without international solidarity,' she said.

After the Palestinian and the Afghan woman, Sahar Shirzad, spoke and Ms Thunberg resumed her speech, noting that 'the people in power have not been listening,' a man came onto the stage and interrupted her, grabbing the mic.

'I have come here for a climate demonstration, not a political view,' he said, before he was ushered off as crowd members booed.

Ms Thunberg then grabbed the mic back and repeated: 'Calm down.'

After a brief pause she started chanting: 'No climate justice on occupied land.'

The man's identity was not clear. He was wearing a jacket with the name of a group called Water Natuurlijk that has elected members in Dutch water boards.

'Greta Thunberg is no longer a climate activist – Israel-hater is the main job': Fury over eco protester's Palestine stance, as Fridays for Future movement distances itself from her

Greta Thunberg has come under fire for her pro-Palestine stance by Jewish groups, as the German branch of climate movement Fridays for Future also distanced itself from her.

Ms Thunberg, wearing a Palestinian black and white scarf, had urged 'ceasefire now' at a climate protest in Amsterdam on Sunday before a man grabbed her microphone and said: 'I've come for a climate demonstration, not a political view.'

The 20-year-old eco-protester had accused 'the people in power of not listening' to the 'voices of those who are being oppressed' in the Gaza Strip during her speech in front of tens of thousands of climate demonstrators.

Her outburst marked 'the end of Greta Thunberg as a climate activist,' said Volker Becker, the president of the German-Israel Society DIG, adding that 'from now: Israel hater is the main job' for the Swedish activist.

The Israeli embassy in Germany also wrote on X that it was 'sad that Greta Thunberg is again misusing the climate stage for her own purposes'.

'The Falkland Islands are British. THAT is non-negotiable': Grant Shapps shoots down new Argentinian president's declaration that 'reclaiming' the territory was 'non-negotiable'

Defence Secretary Grant Shapps (inset) today took a swipe at the Argentina's newly elected president after the former 'tantric sex coach' vowed to 'reclaim' the Falkland Islands and said doing so was 'non-negotiable'. A furious Shapps hit back and said the Falkland Islands 'are British' and that is 'non-negotiable' after Argentinian president-elect Javier Milei (left) said the territory belongs to Argentina and vowed to 'get them back'. Milei, who uses a medium to communicate with his dead dog for advice on political matters, pulled off a massive upset by beating Argentina's Economy Minister Sergio Massa in Sunday's polarised presidential runoff. But during his presidential campaign, Milei insisted that Britain returning the Falkland Islands was 'non-negotiable', adding that the territory, known as the Malvinas in Argentina, is Argentine. In response, Shapps said today: 'The Falkland Islands are British. That is non-negotiable and undeniable.' Referring to the results of the island's 2013 referendum, Shapps continued: '99.8% of islanders voted to remain British and we will always defend their right to self-determination and the UK's sovereignty.'

This Milei weirdo is possibly more moderate than his predecessors on the Falklands. Hopefully he just said what certain segments of the Argentine population needed to hear, in order to satiate their irrational fixation on a group of miserable, cold, weather-beaten islands that are more than three-hundred miles off the country's coast, and many more miles from the nearest significant population centre in Argentina, whose southern region is sparsely populated. He says that the Argentine position on the sovereignty of the Falkand Islands is 'non-negotiable'. He is also quoted as saying 'you have to negotiate with Britain and consider the views of the people who live on the islands.' On the face of it, his words do not make any sense because a) you cannot enter into a negotiation if your position is non-negotiable (especially not if the other side has stated the same thing, as in this case), and b) the views of the islanders are well-known, as there was a sovereignty referendum in 2013 where only three voted that they would prefer not to remain a British Overseas Territory. So it appears that Argentina's position is inflexible, the British government's position is inflexible, and the islanders' own position is inflexible. Unless, and until, Argentina develops the means to take the islands by force, or one of its allies does, or Britain's ability to defend them evaporates, then they will remain British.

If there was suddenly to be an invasion of the islands, would the British government be ready to defend them?...Would they need the request of the islanders for help in defending the islands?...

I believe the Royal Navy has capabilities it didn't last time, namely power projection in the form of HMS Queen Elizabeth and their own 4.5 acres of sovereign territory. https://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/news-and-latest-activity/features/queen-elizabeth-carriers

Is the climate that way year round?...

The temperature in the Falkland Islands has not been known to exceed 75 F. The monthly average temperature in the hottest month, January, is only 48 F. England is far north as the Falklands are south, and stretching further north than that even, and the average temperature in July in England is 64 F, and the maximum temperature recorded exceeded 104 F.

If there was suddenly to be an invasion of the islands, would the British government be ready to defend them?...Would they need the request of the islanders for help in defending the islands?
Since 1985, there is a permanently-manned military base on the Falklands:

hosting RAF Flight No. 1435 with four Eurofighter Typhoons, plus an infantry company, with surface-to-air missile defences and electronic warfare facilities to repel anything that impoverished Argentina, with its greatly enfeebled navy, is likely to be able to throw at them, at least until reinforcements arrive.

It seems Milei used this issue during the election to gain votes...

...

Why Argentina’s New Leader Pushed Claim to Falkland Islands

(Excerpt)

Why is Milei bringing up the issue again?

Milei called during the election campaign for Argentina to recover the Falklands via a negotiated treaty. This chimes with the thinking of his compatriots, the majority of whom believe the islands should be ceded to Argentina, according to past polling. Voters may have had some doubts about Milei’s position on the issue because the radical economic libertarian had cited Margaret Thatcher as one of his inspirations. The former British prime minister sent a naval task force to wrest back control of the islands after Argentina’s invasion.

What’s the UK’s position?

Sunak has rejected any discussion of the issue, with his spokesman, Max Blain, telling reporters that it “was settled decisively some time ago” and “there is no question of the sovereignty of the islands.” Britain has military assets in place to defend the islands, including a permanent Royal Air Force base hosting four Typhoon fighter jets. It often sends warships to patrol the region, as UK Defence Secretary Grant Shapps pointed out in a post on social media site X in response to Milei’s comments.

The UK Appoints a 'Minister for Common Sense'. No, Seriously

For a brief moment, it seemed like Britain’s hysteria around wokeness might actually be dying down. Suella “Homelessness Is a Lifestyle Choice” Braverman’s vitriolic attempt to stir up anger on Remembrance Sunday resulted in her own sacking, and the brave army she tacitly summoned to defend the Cenotaph ended up just being a few hundred guys there to do coke in public or hurl stuff at the police.

But a new front has now opened up in the conflict: the war against wokeness now has an official leader. Yesterday, the UK government appointed a so-called “Minister of Common Sense”, who’s reportedly been tasked with leading the Conservative party’s anti-woke agenda.

The role, which as it stands seems to have no meaningful purpose or power other than to comment on and stoke public outrage, is a perfect fit for the MP who’s landed it: Esther McVey. The “plain-speaking Northerner” – as she was described by the Tory party chairman Richard Holder – hosted a show on Britain’s Fox News equivalent, GB News, until this appointment, and is known by many for pushing for Brexit and generally voting against gay rights.

But given that wokeness broadly means “being aware of social problems like racism and inequality”, what exactly McVey’s job will entail remains to be seen. Maybe she’ll enforce mandatory gender pay gaps? Or introduce a new public holiday celebrating British colonialism? Or, seemingly like much of her party, take that anti-awareness remit literally and remain unaware of the many issues plaguing most of the country?

Mcvey’s new ministerial role is without portfolio, which is a move ordinarily used to get someone into the cabinet office who would otherwise have no reason to be there. She’ll have no department beneath her, but will be able to contribute to policy discussions and decision-making processes.

The Netherlands chose well, hopefully Geert Wilders can finally do something good for his country and the Dutch people...

...

Islamic and eco groups say they fear for the Netherlands' future as Geert Wilders begins trying to build a coalition after shock election success - while his potential partners say Nexit must be off the table

The Dutch muslim community and political leaders say they fear for the future following anti-Islam Geert Wilder's shock election result.

Dutch party leaders met on Friday to begin the lengthy and difficult process of building a coalition.

The populist and anti-Islam Wilders' Freedom Party (PVV) won 37 seats out of 150 on Wednesday, which was well ahead of 25 for a joint Labour/Green ticket and 24 for the conservative People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD) of outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte.

The result, which more than doubled his party's previous share, puts Wilders, who is described as the 'Dutch Trump', in a favourable position for upcoming coalition talks as he will have the first go at trying to build a coalition.

But eurosceptic Wilders, who is an advocate for so-called 'Nexit', has already been told by other party leaders that Dutch membership of the European Union is 'non-negotiable'.

'I didn't do it': Panicked Omid Scobie denies responsibility for error in Dutch copy of Endgame that NAMED the 'royal racist' who spoke about Archie's skin color - as books are pulled from shelves

A panicked Omid Scobie has insisted he did not name a senior figure of The Firm as the 'royal racist', after his controversial new book was dramatically pulled from the shelves today in the Netherlands. The author has blamed a 'translation error' for a passage in the Dutch language version of the book which appeared to name the person who allegedly questioned what colour Harry and Meghan's unborn son Archie would be.

Despite all the provocation, Buckingham Palace has so far maintained a dignified silence on the latest 'revelations' in Omid Scobie's new oeuvre, Endgame, which finally hit bookshops yesterday following weeks of carefully orchestrated 'leaks'. That is undoubtedly the wisest course of action for the King. To engage with this absurd Sussex sycophant would only lend credence to his claims, dragging the Royal Family even deeper into the never-ending Harry and Meghan psychodrama. Whether that will change now that the Dutch edition appears to have 'accidentally' revealed the identity of the alleged 'royal racist', who is supposed to have commented on the colour of baby Archie's skin - remains to be seen.

Prince Harry says the UK 'is my home' and he and Meghan were 'FORCED' to 'step back' from royal duties and leave the country for the US, High Court hears in legal battle with government over his security detail

The Duke of Sussex said his children cannot 'feel at home' in Britain if it is 'not possible to keep them safe', the High Court heard. Harry, in a written witness statement prepared for his legal challenge against the Home Office over a change to his security arrangements when visiting, said he and his wife had no option but to leave the country in 2020. The royal did not accept that it was a 'choice' for him to have stopped being a 'full time working member of the royal family,' his barrister said.
