I think there is no real audience for this image, so there is no incentive for somebody to do lots of work to make 3D rendering.

If I were wandering in the woods and found the tiniest chunk of rusted garbage that could be accurately identified as a part for say, a Royal Tiger, the thing would be worth a few bucks. I'd think piles of Me262 parts would too.

When I was at Udvar-Hazy they have bits and pieces of really rare stuff like Dornier and Japanese jets. You could collect them all and throw them into the trunk of your car and they'd be worth a fortune to a restorer or possible an illegal collector, which may or may not exist but probably does.

Fake or not its cool, doesn't matter too much to me.

The British Airways Concorde is set to return to the Intrepid Museum this spring following a months-long restoration project at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The legendary supersonic jet — which set the record for the fastest commercial airline flight between New York and London at a little under three hours — was removed from the museum in August last year.The estimated $1.6 million renovation involved hauling the Concorde to GMD Shipyard via barge, where a massive tent was erected to cover the hulking vehicle, museum officials told The Post.Over several months, the Concorde was stripped down to its original primer coating with a high-pressure wash before a team of GMD staff spray painted the supersonic passenger plane with the original colors and decals. Last year’s paint job was the first major repair to the Concorde, which has been stationed at the West Side institution since the jet was retired in 2003.British Airways and Air France, which flew the jets, blamed plummeting demand and soaring maintenance costs as the primary reasons behind their retirement.

I was there about ten years ago and don't remember a Concorde. I do remember chasing my nephew the length of the damned ship trying to catch up to him. Little bastard was quick. Still is, just a lot bigger. They had just put that weird bubble on back to accommodate the space shuttle test vehicle Enterprise. They also have an SR71/A12 sitting in the weather that looked a bit shabby, in fact they all do.

I always remember the USS Edson and USS Growler alongside. Growler's still there - an early ballistic missile sub with a small garage on back to launch atomic weapons with missiles that look almost exactly like V1 buzz bombs. Worth seeing if ever in NYC. Edson was too, the last of the gunfighters with 5" guns in turrets. Apparently it has been relocated to a museum in Michigan and the Concorde came in about the same time. I think the reason I don't remember it was that although the destroyer was gone the jet hadn't arrived yet.

That is one of my favorite drums to bang - maskirovka and always has been a component of all this and still is, separate and aside from whatever The Reality of extraterrestrial visitation may be. Yes, I overuse that Tom Clancy-derived term because it fits perfectly. Just because I believe the former doesn't mean I exclude the latter, in fact I think it's quite likely. But getting the military to actually speak the truth is a bit like some people I know - even if you do get them to admit something can you actually believe it? Some people have that infuriating **** written into their DNA.
