Luyten's Star (GJ 273) is a red dwarf in the constellation Canis Minor located at a distance of approximately 12.36 light-years (3.79 parsecs) from the Sun. It has a visual magnitude of 9.9, making it too faint to be viewed with the unaided eye. It is named after Willem Jacob Luyten, who, in collaboration with Edwin G. Ebbighausen, first determined its high proper motion in 1935.[9]

By that time we should have a ship that can travel there before the message arrives.
No, they'll probably be expecting us. They'll probably say something like: "took you long enough, retards!"
That isn't it.They will want to know how we got out of the Solar System with the barbed wire fence they put there.

Never seen an "exiting weapon" before. Not to worry.. Any decent Aliens coming here to take our land know to bring new exiting weapons and drinkable spirits.
Just what we always wanted.
Never seen an "exiting weapon" before.
That would be new.
Don't know why more people don't put thai peppers in their mash. That gives you fire water that burns two ways.
As Star Wars proved, a planet killer is fun to watch as long as you aren't located on the target.I had to look trice.
Using a weapon the right way normally means the one at the receiving end exits this world..
very unlikelyBy that time we should have a ship that can travel there before the message arrives.
As long as its not 332 and as long as its no a whale signal we should be ok???
Any spacefaring race would have engines that produce zettawatts of power at virtually 100% efficiency using only superconductor cabling. We shouldn't be doing this. We have no idea what kind of civilization is on those planets, if there is one at all. I wouldn't take the risk sending them a message if they are nomadic and have the tech to travel here. We wouldn't win that war. Will Smith wouldn't save us. I also would not want to fight a civilization that is leaps and bounds ahead of us, and I would have to.
