The story posted by SD reminds me of an account given by a gent from Australia on AH not long before it shut down. I'm going on memory here, but the basics were that he was out driving on the highway in a very rural area that he had been through before. At one point, the scenery began to change somewhat from what he remembered although he was on the same road. He stopped his car to look around and saw a man standing in a field. The man stared right at him but didn't say a word. The man was holding something in his hand, and was slowly raising it up. By the time the object was at shoulder level, the witness said he realized it was a pistol. The man still said nothing but had a very sad look on his face as if he had been crying. The man continued to raise the pistol and then turned it so that it was pointing at his own head. The witness, now terrified of what was about to happen, closed his eyes and waited for a gunshot.
After a few seconds of silence, the witness opened his eyes and the man had disappeared. Somewhat in the distance, the witness saw a house, I don't remember if he said the house had always been there or if it was a new addition. He walked closer to the house and saw the same man looking out the window at him. The man appeared completely unharmed, but was now standing upside down as if gravity had reversed itself. The witness decided he had enough of this sort of fun and headed back to his car. The rest of his trip was uneventful, and when he returned to the area a few weeks later everything appeared to be the way he remembered it prior to the incident and there was no sign of the strange man.
It seems that there are places where the usual norms of Planet Earth just don't apply, even to the point where we can't categorize just what sort of paranormal we are dealing with. Skinwalker Ranch had stuff like this happen constantly. Perhaps areas like this are areas where the substances that make up the cosmos, i.e. space/time/matter/energy/laws of physics and so on, have become just a little frayed or unglued.
