LOL I think he even said he was banned in the other thread.
WOW, bombshell post:
The UFO Trail: Steinberg Bankruptcy Failed to Slow Claims of Cash Crisis
Breaks down what Gene made as of two years ago, along with his expenses, such as a $700 a month car payment. Along with a $400 a month 'transportation' cost, for a guy who has no job and doesn't leave his computer.
Also, $225 a month for TV, Internet, and phone services. And $200 a month 'Entertainment' costs.
To sum up, donators money went over $1500 worth of declared costs - for Gene to drive a new model car, watch cable, and pay for his iPhone and internet.
Then two years later, he found a gated apartment community that cost $500 more than his previous living arrangement listed here, that he demanded people to pay for.
Begging under false pretence makes it a lot worse than simply asking people for money inappropriately or a social faux pas - it is more akin to fraud if not outright theft.
The use of the official podcast email lists to send out such begging requests despite promising not to do so is also pretty bad and I have twice asked to be removed from such begging notices.
It seems to work for a while but then obviously Gene finds that nobody wants to voluntarily sign up for his begging email list so he just starts sending them to everyone on the Paracast list again.
I'm sure this contravenes some kind of spamming law.
I also think there are questions to be asked about Gene's practice in requesting strangers send him money via Paypal's "friends and family" feature.
Not sure if it is breaking any law but I suspect it is some kind of fraud to call total strangers friends and family - imagine someone begging on TV for funding doing the same thing with their viewers, purely in order to circumvent the standard fee.
Further the fact that he keeps renting homes, apartments etc with no intention of actually paying any rent himself is not only irresponsible it is downright immoral. How is it different from any other kind of theft?
Add on top of that the question of whether the 12 year career of begging has ever been declared as income to the IRS (- I'm pretty certain Gene himself is not a registered charity). I seriously doubt it.
The real scumbag icing on the top is the use of a natural disaster with a false promise of sending some money to help victims later - totally despicable.
I think even most career criminals would draw the line at that - what is next stealing from kids on the cancer ward of the local hospital?
I don't understand how anyone could sleep at night after doing something like that but I think it speaks to some strange kind of mental pathology where Gene has no insight at all into what he is doing.
Either that or he is a complete sociopath and doesn't actually care.
I'm starting to lean towards the latter as evidenced by his constant monitoring of the web for anyone who speaks out about what he is doing as well as his aggressive shutting down of any questions on the Paracast forums -that suggests that there is some insight.
Either way these are not harmless actions and anyone who dismisses them as such needs to seriously consider where their morality is.
Chris has become the second cohost to leave as a result of Gene's disgusting behaviour yet it seems there is always someone else to step in and become a co-presenter.
To those people I would say you are enabling (if not complicit) in behaviour which will likely turn out to be illegal.
Even if it isn't provably illegal it is quite immoral, not to mention disgusting, and will likely tarnish your reputation indelibly forever.
(PS - Sorry if I overused bold and italic formatting here I just wanted to make it as easy to read as possible as I know a wall of similar text can be easy to lose your place on and hard on the eyes to read.)
he grab at Hurricane Harvey relief dollars, ...
I thought I was up to speed on the drama surrounding Gene but I haven't heard anything about this. Could you fill me in please?
Does he have any shame ?
Attempted to divert money from real people in trouble into his own accounts.
Its not enough to try and cash in on his made up misery, He attempts to cash in on the real sympathy ppl were feeling for the hurricane victims.
Steinberg replied in a July 18 email that he resents the probe into public records about him and other family members. "I demand that it stop,"
"My financial struggles are none of your business," Steinberg wrote, adding that he demands others and I cease trolling him and posting what he termed false information.
Its called holding your feet to the fire Gene, and its well deserved in your case.
$700 car payment? Bloody hell! My wife has a hella nice car, and her payment is half that. I drive a 13 year old car. My payment is $0, and it's a pretty nice ride.
What a hosebag.
