There was somebody on the @SchemeGeneRC Twitter yesterday who said they are at the same hotel & noted that "The bus stop is right on the corner." When asked, they said that apparently they had overheard his name come up because he is apparently always on the staff to clean his room, and they Googled him and found the Twitter feed.

It is via this person I formed the impression Gene is at an Extended Stay America; I have asked them if they can confirm or deny but, no response. I don't want to freak them out by besieging them with Gene inquiries but couldn't resist that one, or asking if there was any indication he hits the casinos. Which, they probably have no idea on that last one.

If that applies in Gene's case then he's dodging a fee of $4.50 to $9, which makes no sense to me. (I will say the fees where I live are much higher so perhaps there is more to the story in AZ too.) Gene is so dishonest though, it's truly a thing to behold.

From the link that was sent out, it appears you also have to pay a vehicle license tax, which is linked to the value of the car.

This whole business about Steinberg not being able to renew his vehicle registration is so bogus. Most states send you a renewal form weeks in advance of it expiring. You mean to tell me he waited until the last minute due to lack of funds? I don’t believe a word of it.

Wow well if I am correct and that is where they are, that's quite a daily surcharge for Teddy Bear! Unless they have somehow successfully argued he is a service animal.
The Advanced Payment Policy doesn't jibe with Gene's portrayal of his shenanigans so maybe I'm wrong. Or Gene is lying.

Yes I got my registration renewal in the mail two months before the tag expires, already had the inspection done and got the renewal paid...The vehicle taxes are included and apparently this year only the county I live in is charging an extra 30 dollars on the renewals to pay for road work, bastards...

This has been going on for over 12 years and not once has he been out on the street. Steinberg refuses to seek help from the state or federal agency that deal with these things. If he can’t help himself, how is anyone else going to?

There are also other services Gene could use. The senior centers in Mesa will provide a meal even if you are unable or unwilling to contribute $3.50 for it. Not to mention the food banks. So there is no need for Gene to be in those embarrassing situations where he has to ask the restaurant manager for a meal.
But if Gene did not create drama he would have less material for his emails.

I think you are certainly dead on correct about his need to create drama or at least to portray everything as a crisis in his emails.
I wonder too if he is just unwilling to accept reality. The fact that he seemingly far overreached in his last apartment rental makes me wonder. He doesn't want to take the bus, he probably also doesn't want to go to the senior center or a food bank. He wants to "get his life back", whatever that would mean, since his life appears to be, well, what is is now - doing his shows, policing his forums with an iron fist, begging and scheming.
People make sensible, helpful suggestions; Gene just wants cash with no strings attached. I'm starting to wonder too if he enjoys the little ruckus he gets online nowadays from his emails but, I tend to doubt it. I dunno tho.

The very first time I got one of his e-mails regarding the public sending him money - I literally felt second hand embarrassment start to overwhelm me. I couldn't believe it. I had to reread the email like 3x. I was like "Holy F. Is he really announcing to the world his financial woes and then also has the audacity to ask to PayPal him $???" Unbelievable. But now I am just numb to it.
