Bogus, fraud, hoax is some of the words that come to mind. What are the opinions on the Betty Andreasson abductions?
I was fascinated by the books written by Ray Fowler but that was years ago.
I’m somewhat more jaded and sceptical now about the whole subject.

I went from believing almost every case was real (starting in the 70's) to slowly but surely finding out just about every case is false. I definitely believe aliens exist. I just don't believe that there's any evidence that any alien life has visited the Earth. I'd love to wake up tomorrow and see indisputable evidence in my Google news feed that multiple witnesses photographed and/or videotaped a structured flying saucer. I know I mentioned this before but the Coyne case was probably my last case I was holding on to as a true flying saucer incident. But who knows? Maybe one day soon something will come out that nobody will be able to deny.Nothing special here, you think this of every case you've made comment of on the forum...

I have no doubts they have and there is but your skepticism seems to be at such a degree and intensity now that I wonder if you would accept such evidence, even if it was placed physically in front of you...

I see CGL's point and tend to agree. You have to admit there have been many, many years of nonsense - call it the Chicken Little syndrome. As I mentioned in an earlier thread, I had an elderly relative in the throes of dementia tell me a story about a horse elevator in Central Park. At the time, considering the situation, I didn't pay too much attention. And then one day years later I read about the exact horse elevator she was talking about and her description was spot on.
I'd love to have been able to sit down and listen to Betty Hill recount her story not long after the event or take Joe Simonton out to an IHOP for a proper breakfast - and I would certainly listen politely with an open mind. The accounts we hear get so distorted once they become public and over time that it just adds to the incredulity. I do admit that the filter that I have developed makes it so that there are some accounts that I just don't want to spend my time one, this being one of them.
I see his point to a degree, but you keep bring up the same old worn cases as examples like Betty and Barney, it's like beating a dead horse so to speak...

i don't think its a hoax, most likely the first experiences were real but the later ones probally have a psycological explanation, the experiences she alleged to have in her childhood are also obvious false memoriesBogus, fraud, hoax is some of the words that come to mind.
not to mention many ufologists like to censor the more high strangeness aspects of UFO story and in some cases (like the simonton one you mentioned) just ignore it althogetherI'd love to have been able to sit down and listen to Betty Hill recount her story not long after the event or take Joe Simonton out to an IHOP for a proper breakfast - and I would certainly listen politely with an open mind. say the name of one case wich happened in the 2010's and has a lot of evidence backing it (nimitz doesn't count because it happened in 2004)I see his point to a degree, but you keep bring up the same old worn cases as examples like Betty and Barney, it's like beating a dead horse so to speak...
I totally would. It's something that I've wanted (and figured we'd have by now) since 1979. I think part of me is bitter that I've been burned by a lot of frauds & fakes - that's probably why I come off as being super skeptical. My friends & family all know me as "that guy that believes in flying saucers" I can definitely say that it was way more fun being involved with the subject back when I thought all the classic cases were real.I have no doubts they have and there is but your skepticism seems to be at such a degree and intensity now that I wonder if you would accept such evidence, even if it was placed physically in front of you...

That might depend on who that person is and what he is most familiar with as far as occupation and or pastime.I asked myself the following question & don't have a good answer; what one compelling case you would show/explain to someone that knows nothing of UFO's and/or has no interest?
