Britain Blames Moscow for Poisoning Former Russian Spy

He sorted the economy, inflation is down and pensions are up. Russia is more Western than ever and you can start a business, leave to live abroad with no trouble and get a big Mac.

You may not find Putin to your taste but for those who are facing the realities of a contemporary Russia he is what the doctor ordered, a strong leader that Russia needs in a time of transition and uncertainty. Try to understand it from a Russian point of view and not your own.
i dont care if he is an good leader, he is still corrupt, all corrupt people need an beating

For sure he is corrupt and has had people killed but I still see him as the best bet for the country. He is almost the last person on Earth you should beat on for personal reasons of longevity. I like that about him too, or should I say respect.

Is Russia planning sabotage?...

Russian ships are showing increased interest in the 400 fiber-optic communication cables spanning the oceans

Russian ships are skulking around underwater communications cables, causing the U.S. and its allies to worry the Kremlin might be taking information warfare to new depths.

'We've seen activity in the Russian navy, and particularly undersea in their submarine activity, that we haven't seen since the '80s,' Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, commander of the U.S. European Command, told Congress this month.

Without undersea cables, a bank in Asian countries couldn't send money to Saudi Arabia to pay for oil. U.S. military leaders would struggle to communicate with troops fighting extremists in Afghanistan and the Middle East.

A student in Europe wouldn't be able to Skype his parents in the United States.

All this information is transmitted along tiny glass fibers encased in undersea cables that, in some cases, are little bigger than a garden hose.

Russia is very much alive. Although the recent report that Russia has requested a further expulsion of some fifty more of its own diplomats from the UK doesn't bode well. They have said not to push them and by their standards we have been quick to blame and rally others in order to lay blame. I don't think Putin wanted this to go down like this. It is a set back for Russia and for us all.

If Putin dies suddenly things will get heaps worse.

I like watching those prepper shows, some are hardcore believing there's an imminent threat and their prepping will be required to survive...

Yeah,, they overdo it some, hahaha

But everyone should (be able to) learn how to survive a few weeks in the bush or in deep forests.. with just a tent, a water bottle, a knife and a snare.

Yep I agree and that's me, a few provisions like a tent, knife, and other things I'll be fine, at least in my area of the world...Some places are more difficult to survive than others, while I know what plants to eat and use for medicinal purposes in my region and know the poisonous critters, if I was dropped off in an Australia forest or Amazon forest I probably wouldn't last long...Prior knowledge is needed...

In my opinion worse for Russia not the World.

Thing with Putin is that he is never going to give up power. He says it is his last term but no doubt he will not step down.

As soon as Putin is gone I would predict Russia would collapse into civil war.

Interesting...

Britain can PROVE which Russian lab made the poison used to attack former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter, says Theresa May's security chief
  • Mark Sedwill shared a dossier identifying the Kremlin lab behind the nerve agent
  • Prime Minister Theresa May's national security adviser wrote the letter to Nato
  • In it, he reveals how Britain identified lab in Russia that made Novichok agents
We all like logic here, don't we? Yeah of course we do.
It's a shame those in power have the logic of a baked bean!
The weapon is irrelevant= who used it & why is the question... Surely?

Utility services should never be online, this convenience creates a serious infrastructure weakness...

Putin prepares cyber-strike on Britain: FBI warns Russia is set to hit UK's 'critical infrastructure' including energy networks, armed forces and emergency services

Russia is targeting tens of thousands of laptops and phones in UK homes in preparation for a cyber attack on Britain’s ‘critical infrastructure’, senior security experts revealed.

They added that once access has been gained, Moscow backed agents could hide undiscovered until they decide to attack.

It comes amid reports that Russia is preparing to mount a cyber-strike on Britain’s energy networks, armed forces and emergency services, in retaliation for the Syria air strikes, the GCHQ and FBI have warned.

The government has been probing the cyber-defences to identify vulnerabilities that could ‘potentially lay a foundation for future offensive operations’, UK and US authorities revealed in a joint statement.

Ciaran Martin, CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre, said: 'They are around trying to seize control over connectivity so, in the case of targeting providers of internet services, it is about gaining access to their customers to try to gain control over the devices to allow them not just to spy on the primary organisation but the organisations they connect to.'

White House cyber security co-ordinator Rob Joyce said: 'Once you own the router, you own all the traffic to include the ability to harvest credentials and passwords and essentially monitor all the traffic.
