Dammit! I have enough toilet paper for about 10 days. I hope the stores are resupplied by then.

I don't trust Mail orders right now.

Current state from Finland: Looks like our government is finally taking this seriously. Schools and universities are likely ordered to shut down for couple of weeks or even a month. Everyone that can do their work at home is strongly encouraged to do so. There will be no travelling abroad and they might declare state of emergency soon, maybe even curfews.

Ive not seen anything like this in my life living here. Its unnerving. But i welcome this if it helps contain or at least slow down this damnable virus as much as possible. However many feel this came at the eleventh hour or a bit too late, and many innocent people will undoubtedly pay with their lifes because our officials were lax enough to not react sooner. We will survive, but at what cost... well see.

This Lab Will Pay You To Get Infected With Coronavirus

It sounds like a dream job. You have to sit around for two weeks doing nothing (nice), are forbidden to exercise and will be in complete isolation (NICE), and you'll get paid £3,500 (around $4,500) for your troubles. There's just one tiny catch: you have to be deliberately infected with a coronavirus.

Researchers in the UK are reportedly looking for 24 volunteers for a medical trial that aims to find a vaccine for COVID-19, the new coronavirus that has killed more than 3,800 worldwide and infected at least 110,000 (the confirmed number of cases at the time of writing).

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause a range of diseases and infections, including Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS), the common cold, and now COVID-19. After Chinese researchers released genetic data on the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, researchers around the globe are united in their effort to find a vaccine. According to The Times, Hvivo, which runs the quarantine laboratory at Queen Mary BioEnterprises Innovation Centre in London is one of the many companies developing an injection to fight against COVID-19.

If Hvivo can secure permission from the UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, and it secures its volunteers, then the trial will go ahead. It will involve participants being injected with two weaker strains of the coronavirus, 0C43 and 229E, which can cause mild respiratory illness. This will allow the researchers to test out new vaccines and antiviral medications in a controlled environment.

The volunteers will then be quarantined for 14 days and monitored by doctors and nurses in protective gear, who will be their only human contact over the fortnight. Patients will likely experience mild symptoms of a cough or cold, Professor John Oxford, an expert in virology at the Queen Mary University of London told The Times. Swabs and their dirty tissues will be collected in order to measure their viral load.

Prior to the trial, the volunteers will be asked about their medical history and given a series of medical tests, including being screened for antibodies against coronaviruses. “We’ve actually all been exposed to many coronaviruses, which means we could have some kind of underlying immunity to it," Andrew Catchpole, Hvivo’s chief scientist told The Times.

Volunteers will then be inoculated and given a dose of the virus strains.

“If it [a vaccine] works on our little virus, it is very likely to work in the real world," Prof Oxford said.

Several other labs around the world have prototype vaccines for COVID-19, which they have already begun testing on animals. If they go well, testing on humans could begin as early as next month. If those are successful, a vaccine could be widely available early next year.

If you're interested in becoming involved in this trial if it is approved, or other similar trials, you can find details on Hvivo's FluCamp, website.

Iranian mass graves 'for coronavirus victims are so huge they can be seen from space': Fears the regime's official 429 death toll is covering up scale of the crisis

Aerial photos appear to show a cemetery in the holy city of Qom being expanded after the outbreak began there in mid-February (the site is shown top right in October 2019 before the outbreak began, and bottom right earlier this month). Experts say there are signs that the new 300ft trenches (indicated on the left) were dug for the many virus victims who have died in the city. In addition, videos which have circulated on social media appear to show people confirming that the graves are being used for coronavirus patients. Iran has suffered one of the world's worst outbreaks and there has been widespread suspicion that the regime is covering up the true scale of the crisis. Official figures say that 429 people have died.

Italian coronavirus death toll leaps 23% in one day to 1,016 as the total number of cases in the country passes 15,000

The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak in Italy has jumped in the last 24 hours by 189 to 1,016, a rise of 23 per cent, it emerged today.

The total number of cases in Italy, the European country hardest hit by the virus, rose to 15,113 from a previous 12,462, an increase of 21.7 per cent. That marked the biggest daily rise in absolute terms since the contagion first came to light on February 21.

The Civil Protection Agency said that, of those originally infected, 1,258 had fully recovered compared to 1,045 the day before. Some 1,153 people were in intensive care against a previous 1,028.

More than half of those who are in intensive care in Italy are located in hard-hit Lombardy province, which on Thursday reported 605 ICU patients in a region with only 610 ICU beds.

Hospitals in Lombardy are are overflowing with the dead. Lombardy's top health care official, Giulio Gallera, said at the request of the hospitals, the region had simplified the bureaucracy needed to process death certificates and bury the dead.

Rome's Catholic churches were ordered to close today due to the pandemic, in a move believed to be unprecedented in modern times.

The decree by Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, Pope Francis' vicar for the Rome archdiocese, will remain in effect until at least April 3. There are more than 900 parochial and historic churches in the Italian capital.

It comes as Italians with coronavirus symptoms could face murder charges if they venture outside despite the quarantine and cause a patient's death.

Suspected virus patients have been ordered to stay indoors with a penalty of 206 euros (£182) over their heads - but they could face far graver charges if they infect someone on their travels.

The most severe charge of 'malicious murder' could lead to a prison sentence as long as 21 years, according to Italian media, while virus spreaders could still be charged with misconduct even if no-one is killed.

I am starting to think we will never even know the real magnitude of this pandemic as the system will be too overwhelmed for keeping accurate numbers.

Already a friend of a friend in Italy Says they are under martial law. Ambulance sirens are constaint,.
She says the numbers are grossly under reported. She estimates 15,000 in her own town alone is a realistic number, and deaths in the thousands.

So if this kind of stuff is getting messaged around, no wonder people are worried. If this stuff us true, the statistics are only a fraction of reality.

Oh that's a given, I have suspicions, See, I've been following everything about this virus, Did you know days ago, The IOS store and Google play removed any and all Coronavirus tracking apps, Siteing that they didn't want to spread inaccurate information, Well, Days later, The Johns Hopkins Tracking website Changed the way they do things, Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS

No longer does it give exact locations of the Infacted, it only adds to the number of those infected statewide. No location data. Not to mention, It's suspicious that We don't have any people recovered yet in the united states, Chinas numbers haven't changed in over a week.

In short, We, The Public; Aren't getting accurate data at all, On any of the important analytics. It's like the governments don't want to panic the people, Or don't want them to know for whatever reason,, But anyone who has been closely watching the analytics on this situation knows that suddenly in about the last week, We haven't been getting accurate data anymore. EIther, It's worse than we think, And worse than they want to admit too, Or, It's just not important enough to panic the public with, One of those answers is true and the other is a fabrication to pacify the public. Take your pick.

It is amazing to me how fragile our whole economic system can be.

One "nasty" virus and people are either over reacting or under reacting and with so much media hype, nobody really trusts anything.

It is this lack of certainty that is breaking everything.

Not the virus itself...

Hypothetical Scenario:
-----------------------------------
Allergy season is hitting here....
I just sneezed...
Is it JUST allergies, or am I to err on the extreem caution and assume I contagious?

I went to the dentist yesterday... should I tell them I sneezed?

Maybe I should call in sick? maybe I should self quarantine, just in case.

Well, I am not personally concerned. I recognize an allergy for what it is...
But if I sneeze in public, will I be accused of spreading it if someone gets sick later?

I won't bother getting tested... no reason to waste a test... and I dont want to know anyway... it is better not to know... you know?

I will just stock up on things and stay indoors till May.

Yeah... 300 cans of beans should do it... and to be sure, 500 rolls of toilet paper... yeah... that should hold me. Ooooh... and 500 Candy Bars... Hey, it might as well be fun, right? "HELLO, Delivery service? Yeah... just put it on my account... I will open the garage... leave it all in there... Thanks!"

End of Hypothetical Scenario
-------------

My reality:
I do not know of anyone that has it here. I guess I will head on in to work now.
