Gene Steinberg's Financial Shenanigans @ Paracast forums

Well it has to be something. Until very recently, he apparently had an income of $2500 to $3000 per month (effectively tax free), and lives in an area that's pretty affordable compared to much of the rest of the country. He has made many very irrational decisions, like leasing fancy new cars. Leasing a car is essentially renting it, and it only makes sense if there is some financial incentive to do it, like a tax break or some accounting trick that allows for some saving elsewhere. Otherwise, it is just about the most expensive way to keep a car around. The only thing more expensive is short term rentals, and even that can be halfway reasonable if you work it right.

So anyway, a lot of us have been trying to figure out what Gene is wasting money on. Doesn't appear to be booze. Opiates, maybe. That's very common. The casino pictures got dug up and vanished expeditiously, which made me think he definitely had something to hide. Glenn Campbell lived near several casinos and took advantage of the cheap buffets regularly, but he was too smart to chuck at the slot machines or anything like that. He also worked the rental car to his advantage, routinely getting a clean new car to live in. It was a lot cheaper than owning a camper, if a hell of a lot less comfortable.

A year or two back, Gene was in a good situation. He was renting a place for some reasonable amount, still had a capable co-host to keep the show going, and his begging was only an annoyance in the UFO realm. If he had just cooled it and lived within his considerable means, he'd still have a successful show. Laying off the dictator role at the forum would have allowed it to keep going. Now it's all a train wreck, and the direct result of Gene's bizarre behavior. It's not too late for him to have a decent life, but he'd have to give up the bullshit and seek help. There is help out there for him and Barbara, but not until he drops the phony baloney.

Today's very lame attempt at begging:

An update on ways to help!
Hi,

Here’s an update on my situation:

I’m making progress in covering the motel stay, but I still have a ways to go.

Facebook Messenger appears to work for instant transfers to my bank debit card, so that’s probably the best method for now.

Here’s my Facebook page:

Gene Steinberg

If you’re not using Facebook, or don’t want to send money via that method, you can use Western Union or Moneygram. Walmart has a deal with Moneygram that offers a lower rate. You can send payments at your nearest Walmart store, or use the following link:

https://walmart.moneygram.com/walmart/us/en/

For me to pick up the money, I’ll need a tracking number.

Please write me if you have questions about these payment methods.

I’m making progress in solving the PayPal problem, where my balance remains negative, so that choice should be available again shortly.

If you’re not able to send a donation, feel free to forward this message to someone who might assist.

I’m only making slight progress in setting aside money for a new apartment, and if you have any questions about my living situation, please let me know.

To receive regular updates, please sign up here: Available Mailing Lists

Peace,
Gene

I also note that UTI is desperately posting on the forum to make it look like there is some activity but by now everyone knows he is Gene's personal servant. Perhaps it is starting to dawn on him that he sold his reputation for something that was completely worthless.

Oh, I agree it has to be something. Maybe it's just streaming services, iPhone, car lease, eating out every meal. Those will add up. But yeah, to me a central mystery is where does (or did) his money go, since we know he doesn't pay the rent until he absolutely has to (and sometimes not even then).

I haven't seen him dismiss the gambling claims, and there is the story that he took down pics of him and family in casinos so, perhaps there is something to it. I don't know. It would explain a lot and would fit my image of Gene.

What was kind of incredible too was to see all of the various loans he declared in his bankruptcy. Paycheck loan places, a large personal loan. The guy wasn't just begging from his audience relentlessly, he was regularly going out and trying to lay his hands on any cash he could, it seemed. What did he do with that money?

But..but..but, what about Anders and the new website, store and youtube channel? This was announced a month and a half ago. The money should have been rolling in by now. How could he be in worse shape? None of this makes sense.....unless .....unless it's ...all a scam!!!!!

All those things are forgotten until he can get his hands on the new iPhone. It is disgusting that you aren't all sending him money already so he can get his hands on that sweet bit of kit - his "preciousss".

Also Gene doesn't like keeping a car that is more than a couple of years old. It may well be getting close to the time for him to get a new one. Obviously he can never go down in price. The last one was costing him $700/month. I think something in the $1000/month price range would be appropriate - beggars can be choosers when they are Gene. So the desire to get that may also be clouding his judgement and affecting the continuity of the Anders storyline.

I was actually replying to another post, but was too lazy to find it and quote it. Maybe Griftberg is rubbing off on me.

I'm sure he is feeling the pinch by now, with ad revenues falling and even going in reverse if there is any truth to the Pay Pal saga. Big if! When he was last evicted, if memory serves, he had lived there for about three months and managed to owe the owner of the condo thousands of dollars. How much rent did he even pay there? Now he has no choice but to pay, of course. I don't buy his stories about being allowed to wait a day to see if his card works. Surely his new landlords are on to him by now.

Now the motel is eating up most of the Social Security checks, and that whopper of a car payment has to come from somewhere. I'm sure he really is in a bind, what with the steep price of the new phone and all. Between the fancy new car and the fancy new phone and the phone service, I'm sure he's spending $1000 a month just to keep his grubby mitts on the cool toys. You can drive for Uber and Lyft with a five or ten year old car, and my Motorola phone works great. It's a high zoot model that cost me $300 cash at Best Buy and will work with any carrier.

A stand out line there for me is:

"I’m only making slight progress in setting aside money for a new apartment, and if you have any questions about my living situation, please let me know."

One can wonder what constitutes "slight progress", but to me it says this asshole still has money socked away while wailing to anyone and everyone he's still down to (literally if I'm not mistaken) his last nickel and needs the charity of others to pay for his motel room. WTF.

I think new apartment is code for Iphone. Like I said that will take priority until he can get his hands on it. Then he might start considering other things.

The problem with the Steinberg scenario is this: People assume the worst about him and they have in the majority of times been proven true. There is a laundry list of Steinberg’s misdeeds. He really only has himself to blame, contrary to what he tells people. Every problem he encounters has been done to him by others so he says. After awhile you can only wade through so much bullshit before you dismiss everything he does say.

The problem for Steinberg is that a new Apple or Android is around a $1000 these days. Gene would never use anything less that the best available. At least he has his priorities straight!!

He would never buy Android. The top end Iphone is $1449 and you can bet that is the one he "must" have.
