He is a Jekyll and Hyde personality for sure. He likes to portray himself as a tech genius but that is far from the truth. He needs to get others to set up his websites and keep them running. As Biedny has stated, he lies about virtually everything.

Just to add in order to see the true Gene, you need to make it clear that he can't get anything (e.g. money, a new website, advertising etc.) out of you. At that point you will see the real person behind the persona.

When I first started listening to his show in around 2011 - I figured he was my age (I'm 47 now) or a little older. I had no idea.

That's exactly what happened. He reached out to me & I told him that I wasn't interested (but in a long paragraph, not just the words "not interested") he gave me a short, cold message back. I figured we were going to have a back and forth a little bit; wrong. Once I saw how short he was I figured when I was listening to the show, that I was listening to an act. Then once he saw my political views he got on my case constantly - even giving me private "warnings". Even the warnings were cold & short. I even found a glitch on his system where it would log me in under someone else's name. I reported it to him ASAP & figured he'd be grateful that I reported the problem - but again, I got a short, cold crappy response.
He's an ungrateful turd.

We had a member last year do something like this, he attacked anyone who's political views were not far left like his own and some were vicious attacks and started calling people racist, pmed me calling me a racist amongst other things when he became aware my views weren't even close to his lol...

Looking at the Paracast forums today it would be sad to see it’s huge decline if it wasn’t for Genes on going behaviour.Randall has resorted to digging into long dormant discussions and making lame points to try to provoke discussion.I guess the term flogging a dead horse doesn’t resonate with him.

I was put on a 'discourage list' - an amazing coincidence right after having expressed a political opinion, and from anyone who reads what I've written here I am hardly inflammatory. In a PM he told me that the list was intended basically for trolls to f*** up their forum activities and that I had somehow accidentally wound up there. Imagine that. Almost as big a coincidence as Roger Patterson's. This was after a week or two of farting around with him denying any problem. "Works fine for me" was what I got. I mentioned I was once a systems administrator that had 'enhanced' a user interface once or twice he instantly replied wanting to know what I used to work on. When I told him and it was clearly of no use to him that was the end of it.
I think I've mentioned this here before but am doing so again in case there's even a slim chance he sees this. I'd tell him he shot himself in the foot. I was a Day1 listener who had recently subscribed to P+. I thought I should finally support the free show I had been enjoying and would probably have bought another hideously overpriced mug or something. Dicking around with a paying member who really wanted to show some minimal support. He can't really be that hard up for cash if petty opinions cause him to do this. If he is a man of such political convictions I wonder what he makes of all those uber-survivalist advertisers which take up so much time of the free version.
In that interim of being discouraged I found AE and then realized how much the show began to suck. Transparent nitwit. People voluntarily come to these forums for a reason and if he's going to dick around for shallow reasons and then use the whole thing as his personal ATM then he and Randall can have fun by themselves.

It is very ironic to me that Gene is said to have politically progressive views when he runs his forum Stasi style. I mean yeah, it's his forum to manage and he has to maintain some order no doubt, but reading people's private messages? Deleting threads right and left? Doxing people who troll him? It's no way to treat a community. I wondered if the last forum upgrade was to do something with cookies to give him more insight into which of his forum members were visiting this site but, that's probably ME being paranoid, not Gene. Maybe?
Gene hates Donald Trump but both seem fond of hyperbole to the point of dishonesty, and fond of attacking anyone who questions them.
Then of course he appears to be completely untrustworthy both personally and professionally. Be the change you want to see in the world, Gene!

They do seem to be very similar. Neither will ever be satisfied with what they have - Trump is also a gambler of sorts in terms of how he invests. Also they are from the same generation. I suppose the difference is that one has money the other doesn't.
Also as for Gene's political stance I think it is just a cover to try to fit in with the broader UFO field which tends to be more touchy feely left wing. If he was in something more conservative he would mould himself in that way.
I think deep down his only belief is in enriching himself and supporting his own lifestyle - if it truly came down to it he would claim to support whatever ideology would help him to do that.
I suspect if you told him you would pay him for it he would become a total ETH believer and pretend he never said otherwise.
It is the sociopathic way.

As someone who is to the left of the neo-lib wing of the Democratic Party, I am not sure that I would identify the broader UFO field as being left wing. But perhaps that is better left for another thread.
In any event, since I believe in progressive social change and know how much work it takes for the long haul, I want to disavow any hint that Gene's begging has anything to do with politics. We don't like it. If people have money to give away I can think of better causes.
