Hah he wants to "get off this train wreck before it's too late"? I don't know where to begin. Gene you are the train wreck. And as many have said, a motel is probably the best option for you, since you have to pay as you go, and aren't able to burn another landlord to the tune of thousands of dollars.

I was a Paracast fan - on and off - and he always WANTED to be a bit of a celebrity, but was always to much like a used car salesman. Besides, his thinking was stuck in the 1950s and 1960s usually. Then all this fishing for money started, and the pressure tactics where folk were made to feel guilty about his supposed poverty. Yet I hear he was at the casino day and night? Or buying new computers, phones, modems, car accessories.. All the while this was going on he was and is pleading his case for money.

Well the casino thing is a theory based on the mystery of where his social security money goes. What we do know is that he has consistently lived beyond his means throughout the years. He seems to be incapable of budgeting.

I am not sure what has been removed. I just listened to the interview with Chris again, which is as I remember it. All the quotes are still there. It is still on YouTube.
I did not have the patience or the stomach to listen to the interview with Gene. There are some things I do not need to hear.
I noticed that Decon promotes an interview with Americas favorite felon, Sean David Morton, as among his popular guests. I recall when Chris said that he would not knowing share the stage with Morton - I don't think I would have given Morton a platform on a podcast, but perhaps that is a discussion for another topic.

His son lives in Spain, I believe. A belief I've seen offered more than once is that he is keeping his distance, realizing his parents cannot be helped.
Based on public records it appears at one point his parents rented an apartment with his name on the lease (I assume but do not know he went along with this to help them out), and didn't pay the rent and were evicted, thus resulting in a financial judgment against Grayson.
I can't really imagine what kind of person Grayson might be, considering who raised him, but the school of thought that he has removed himself from Gene's never-ending train wreck seems reasonable to me. I don't think ill of him for wanting to protect himself and lead his own life. Still if one believes Gene's emails it seems like someone needs to step in and take control of the situation, since his parents are practically homeless now. Perhaps they would only drag him down with them.
(Of course, you do have to allow for Gene making everything sound as dire as he can in his emails in hopes of wringing cash out of people. Then again there are the records of the evictions and judgments against Gene and Barbara.)

The schnorrer reads everything posted about him anywhere. Hi Gene. It's one of the reasons he doesn't have time for a real job. You know, Gene, one that pays the bills, like most other people have. But the rest of us are not special like Gene. Ordinary jobs are beneath him. He has said so on numerous occasions. He'd rather beg and ruin his reputation, rip off landlords and anyone else he can con. What a prince.

Seizing control of the moocher's affairs would be difficult. In order to legally take control of things like bank accounts and Social Security money, Grayson would have to have him declared incompetent. El Sponge-o is undoubtedly incompetent in such affairs, as he reminds us almost daily now, but it's not an easy thing to get done (I have some experience here) and then Grayson (or whoever took Gene on to raise) would be constantly dealing with side scams and whatever else the idiot might dream up. I think I'd find another continent to live on, too.

Hi Gene. We know about the bludging and the schemes. We know about the begging emails and the fake illnesses. Lets just hope Bab's gets to see all this in the near future. Or is she still on the crapper trying to pass a stool?

Good points. Too, there is the truism that a person cannot be helped if they don't want help. All evidence suggests Gene resists authentic help.
Yeah, Spain probably seems a pretty good option. Can't blame him. Not sure who will eventually have to take charge of Gene. Maybe J. Randall Murphy.

I cannot be certain what J. Randall Murphy has paid attention to and what he has ignored.
My gut take is he is a guy who already had his mind made up about Gene and has not actually read the UFO Trail blog posts, for example, nor scrolled through the 2018 begging email screenshots at @SchemeGeneRC. If he has looked at those things, I think he's somehow managed to dismiss them or fit them in with his already established conclusions. That's only my interpretation of course.
I think he's a fool for ignoring all the evidence, and compounding that foolishness by getting further entangled with Gene.
Just one thing that doesn't parse for me is, he has to know how it ended with Gene's last two co-hosts and I would think have some clue what each says about the man now. How does he imagine his experience will be better than theirs?
Then if he would just honestly take in the stuff at the UFO Trail blog, I mean, to me the picture those court documents paint of Gene is flat out repulsive.
Plus if you really look at the history of begging, helping him produce the Paracast is enabling a guy who doesn't care who he hurts so long as he gets money somehow. Then on top of that, that money hasn't helped him - he's begged, borrowed and stolen* and still wound up homeless, and dragged his wife and pet along for the ride.
I've no clue how one really helps Gene but I don't think propping up his failing operation is the answer. I have seen a lot of things I'd call helpful suggestions from Erickson and others. Whether or not Gene takes them...?
(* I would argue he's stolen from at least his last two landlords)
