Wait the thread is gone? Did someone say something that put it over the top or did Gene just decided he had enough? I really don't think he deserves the benefit of the doubt here, he may have been duped by BIL but he still victim blames.

Also despite his protestations that he was duped, it is quite clearly bullshit.

here using public and court records and you can see for yourself.
Gene wants us to believe that all those public records are somehow fake or untruthful. He wants us to reject the public record in favour of the ramblings of a pathological liar.
He held several high level positions in the scam companies his BIL had (the original ones that he went to jail for, not just the newer ones) and eventually he took full control
- you can't do that without knowing what is going on.
He even raised money under the pretence of helping the BIL during the court case whilst also simultaneously trying to slander and libel the victims.
The idea that the BIL was still somehow able to keep the truth from him during this period is even more ridiculous.
At no point did he suddenly turn around and say at the time that he was duped and that he didn't realise he was involved in a criminal enterprise - something any innocent person would do the minute they found out.
It's like the whole court case never happened and despite becoming CEO of the company Gene never looked at a single document or spoke to anyone there.
When the BIL got out of jail he helped him set up new companies (according to his own admission) then later brought him on the Paracast to promote his new scams.
These are not the actions of someone who was duped.
They are the actions of someone who was actively involved and helping a conman find new victims. Had he been somehow duped by the BIL he would not have gone anywhere near him after he got out of jail.
The fact that he keeps perpetuating this bullshit is particularly egregious since there is no way in hell now that he cannot know every one of the crimes that were perpetuated by the company and his BIL - the vulnerable elderly people who were scammed out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, the father in law that had his money and belongings stolen when he was terminally ill, the witness tampering etc.
These are not victimless crimes and Gene is fully aware of them yet still calls himself and the BIL victims of some kind of vendetta.
The fact is Gene never takes responsibility for anything.
That is why I find it all the more surprising when people show sympathy for him or try to explain away his actions.
He has been caught lying multiple times in his begging emails and his comments on the forums and yet people still want to believe his side of the story.
Not me and not anymore.
Gene treats everyone else with utter contempt and merely tolerates them as long as he thinks he can get something out of them. There is no doubt that his BIL was sociopath but I think it seems more and more like Gene is one too.
He will say anything and do anything to get what he wants and he will continue to scam people as long as he can.
I'm sure in his mind he sees it as him getting what is rightfully his. Most sociopaths do. Other human beings are simply tools for their use.
Nobody should have any sympathy for him.
