The lava flows have covered two wells at the power plant.

Would you happen to have seen where they say what this alleged flammable liquid is?......and what it was for?

It's also unclear if the release of hydrogen sulfide is the only dangerous scenario when magma infiltrates a geothermal well.

Local residents fear an explosive emission of deadly hydrogen sulfide and other gases should wells be ruptured.

Its in the article.......it says 60,000 gallons of flammable liquids.

Oh yeah, well they removed it, whatever it was...

Since Hawaii's Kilauea volcano began a once-in-a-century-scale eruption on May 3, authorities have shutdown the plant, removed 60,000 gallons of flammable liquid, and deactivated wells that tap into steam and gas deep in the Earth's core.

I remember watching a story weeks ago of them hauling off tankers of flammable liquid from the site.

Then they should stop mentioning it......and they should mention what it is. Makes me doubt the reports credibility.

They also never answered why it was there in the first place.

Guess my little brother sold out just in time, no wait that was the other island O'ahu, but it could have used being demolished as well. Termite ridden so badly he said the walls were ready made fire escapes as you could just run straight through them to safety. A bonus selling point considering.

No more geothermal energy for some time, by the looks of it..

The electrical grids of the Hawaiian islands are each separate and relatively small. "Overbuilding" distributed solar in some areas has led to issues such as partial duck curve, although time-of-use pricing has reduced disadvantages.

Well, @CasualBystander was right. Electrical ducks causing problems.. Only gigant powerwalls can solve
