I looked it up and I might just get myself a copy.... Sounds like an interesting read, not too slog a read...
As far as Krishna is concerned, that's not to forget that when it comes to his role in the Mahabharata, Lord Krishna (a master manipulator and trickster) presents himself as quite the villain who uses some treacherous means to justify his cause in claiming the victory of righteousness over evil. Which incidently he didn't suceed in doing in that he was never able to banish darkness from the world...
Krishna means 'black' or 'dark' in Sanskrit and he is a prime example of how human frailties such as weakness in character or morals can affect even an Avatara (incarnation of a Deity on Earth).

Yes you right, he is a master manipulator and trickster. The Mahabharata is very educating.. I'm a fan of Krishna (not devotee). Now there are many movies about the Mahabharata, movies are better then books imo..
The latest Mahabharata serial is the Mahabharata 2013 hindi serial, I'm not sure but I think there are subtitle for this movie, I saw it on TV few years ago, this is the intro of it..
