I suspect something shady happened behind closed doors. He probably has dirt on someone or counter charges that would make the system look bad.

The proposal is so crazy even the Democrats didn't want to be linked to it.Senate votes down Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal 57-0 with high-profile Democrats joining Republicans to show their disapproval of radical plan
The Senate roundly rejected Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal as expected on Tuesday with not a single senator voting 'yes' for the progressive star's signature policy initiative. Democrats slammed Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for holding a 'sham' vote on the matter - it was a non-binding resolution, meaning it had no force of law, and needed 60 votes to advance in the legislative process, which was impossible given Democrats only have 47 votes in their corner. Most of the Democrats voted 'present' in protest while Democratic Sens. Joe Manchin, who represents the red state of West Virginia; Kirsten Sinema of Arizona; and Doug Jones of Alabama voted no, as did Independent Sen. Angus King of Maine, who caucuses with Democrats.

It's a waste, but a guy as rich as he is should have been able to acquire the necessary permits.Owner of sprawling £48m palace on the French Riviera is told he has 18 months to DEMOLISH IT because the Tuscan-style property was illegally built on protected woodland more than a decade ago
Chateau Diter is a beautiful Tuscan property nestled among green hills and gardens between the opulent cities of Monaco and Cannes in the South of France (pictured centre). It needs to be torn down because its tycoon owner failed to get planning permission before it was constructed in a protected wooded area, the Aix-en-Provence court of appeal ruled Monday. French businessman Patrick Diter now has 18 months to demolish the estate, which was often used by oligarchs and their loved ones for weddings and film production companies for more than £40,000 per day.
Prosecutor Pierrre-Jean Gaury described his palace as a 'pharaonic project, delusional, totally illegal and built illegally'. Pictured: The chateau has many antique-filled reception rooms and lounges and can host 2,000 people for a wide range of events (top and bottom right); As well as reception rooms, the mansion has a range of bedrooms and kitchens (bottom left); It also comes with three swimming pools (top left) and two helipads.

My thoughts on it are slightly different, I didn't want to post them in the article thread I started because I was trying to make it all fact-based without opinion. But I didn't know the subject was covered in this thread. So Michelle Obama's chief of staff makes a phone call and then miraculously the man is out of Shit's Creek and is now a victim? My achin' ball bag ...........

I think, Maybe, The whole Hate crime issue is a bit overblown, I mean, I've never seen an example of the hate crime law used properly, It seems like a very biased overkill kind of punishment. You can punish people for a crime, But punishing them based on the way they were feeling while they committed the crime seems unjust to me. I think People should just be punished accordingly by the charges of crime and elevating the crime's nature by calling it a hate crime is just a way for governments and social groups to get in their slaps and kicks at the convicted in an exaggerated way. But, The hate crime laws are basically a witch hunt, it's people finding a way to elevate punishments for crimes by labeling them differently, Did Smollett actually commit a crime, yes, Does he deserve hate crime laws enforced upon him? No, I don't think anyone does really. A crime should just be a Crime. At least in my opinion. So honestly, The fact that he beat laws that I consider unfair and unjust, to begin with. Good, I say. He deserves to be punished, But hate crime laws are Bs, It's an unfair way to hang people, They never should have been instated, to begin with.
With that said, Could a white man have avoided these hate crime charges if the tables were turned, Probably not.
But In light that the hate crime laws are unjust. I choose not to think about that aspect.
That it is, And for those charges, Yeah Smollett is a pretty shitty person. And I will admit, It's pretty sad he walked away from it all in the way he did. I mean, He will probably even get to keep his career, Which is sad, Other actors have lost their jobs for much less.Wasting the time of the police department with a fabricated storyand fueling yet another hysterical media frenzy due to his own greed and desire for attention is the problem, not hate crime laws.
Volunteers are being offered £14,000 to lie in bed for two months and watch TV to help NASA understand how space travel will affect astronauts.
The dream job for many is designed to see how 'artificial gravity' affects the human body and participants will need to do everything lying flat, including going to the toilet.
Space experts from both NASA and ESA will study them around the clock in a bid to understand how astronauts may be affected by prolonged spells in space, with muscle wasting the main concern.
ESA claim it is integral in understanding the damage that may be caused by weightlessness, cosmic radiation, isolation and spatial restrictions.
