R.I.P Tony.

Thanks for everything Tony! I admire how he continued to work doing what he loved until he simply couldn't do it anymore. That should be an example to all of us.

From Kate's FB:
Rest in peace Amanda Haerterich; fierce competitor, goofy/low-key nerd, perpetual loser of just one skate somehow. Cancer is the fucking worst.

We weren't close, at first but our friendship grew and deepened we were FB_IMG_1689960339315.jpgnot only friends but became lovers. we came up through Wreckers and Babydolls and then separate home teams within Madison Roller Derby (but eventually played together again for the heard B team). She was fun to play with and against, and seemed to make a big impact on everyone who was close with her. I know her loss will be keenly felt by many and I'm sending comfort and love and grace to you all.

Hold the ones you love close, and call that person you've been meaning to call. We have just one wild and precious life. Live it with everything you've got.
Blessed be

"I am gone now and only the wind remains f
If you need me look for me in the rain. If you need to hear my voice listen to the wind for that is where I'm at. Amanda was a fierce competitor a warrior on the track. She had a secret few knew. Before she left for the Greenland's she told me to tell everyone it took a long time for her to open to me a long time to trust.Amanda needed the love only a woman can provide. She trusted me and one other to provide it. In her leave taking she wanted me to tell the truth of her bisexuality and now I have done so farewell Amanda my friend my lover my sister. May you rest in the goddesses arms till your next life. Cancer sucks
Till we meet again. Blessed be.

So, cop shows are all lies? I thought except for extraordinary circumstances ascertaining time of death was no big deal.

Paul Reubens dead at 70: Actor known for playing 'Pee-wee Herman' dies after secret battle with cancer 32 years after his career was derailed for indecent act in a cinema and 2002 arrest for child pornography

Pee-wee Herman star Paul Reubens has died at the age of 70. The actor, who performed as the iconic character since 1977 , passed away on Sunday night after battling cancer in private. Reubens had cancer for six years - but kept his fight a secret. He battled the disease with his 'trademark tenacity and wit' and was remembered for his 'remarkable character and generosity of spirit.' In a note written by Paul, posted after his death by his family, the actor asked for forgiveness for not informing the world about his diagnosis. Paul Reubens wrote: 'Please accept my apology for not going public with what I've been facing the last six years. I have always felt a huge amount of love and respect from my friends, fans, and supporters. I have loved you all so much and enjoyed making art for you.' Reubens created the beloved Pee-wee Herman with the late Phil Hartman, which led to an HBO special in 1981 and ultimately his 1985 movie Pee-wee's Big Adventure. That led to his hit TV series Pee-wee's Playhouse, which ran from 1986 to 1991, along with the 1988 movie Big-Top Pee-wee.

Brian Eldridge: May 1947 - July 2023

Brian was a quiet shy boy and man.

He was bullied as a child and teenager because of his shyness and vulnerability. As an adult he didn't fit in.

He never learned to use a computer or a cell phone, which kept him from applying for most jobs.

He worked and supported himself through paper routes, aluminum can recycling and janitorial work.

He was exploited by employers. His last job, was cleaning a bingo hall at midnight for $10 per hour 7 nights a week 364 days a year with just less than the minimum weekly hours to have any rights or benefits.

His employer fired him on Christmas Eve with no notice. He had worked there for over 15 years.

He had no friends or family who kept up with him. He was quiet, smart, generous and lonely.

When found in his apartment, he had been dead at least four days.

I'll miss him.

Ada Deer has passed away.

She died peacefully, in her sleep, at approximately 9:45pm on August 15, 2023. Eight days ago, she celebrated her 88th birthday, surrounded by friends and family. Ada carried with her the love and gratitude of so many. Her extraordinary legacy lives on around the country and the world, and in all of us. Ava was one the few that practiced shamanic healing and medicines. She struggled to teach several woman in the ho chunk nation these secrets. Ada worked tirelessly for the betterment of her people.
My daughter Kate fought to get her to speak on native American rights while in high school an effort that paid off with a friendship that lasted until Ada's death.
Rikki and Kate were invited to the funeral. Some of the few whites invited.
She will rest near the 12000 year old thunderbird mound. And the bones of her ancestors.
