Yes However I am NOT recognized by the state as clergy. I can preform Handfasting ceremony but to be official only A high priestess sanctioned by the state can preform weddings. When I marred Bob we had two ceremonies. One a handfasting. ( the only WICCAN Ceremony he ever attended) And a wedding at the civil hall in our state capitol. I have applied to be recognized as clergy but have never been granted that honor.
Kate my daughter also can preform the ritual. But she defers to me to do any honors.

Hmm, interesting. Don't know where you are at, but in Kentucky you would certainly be able to perform legally binding marriages. All that is required is that the folks getting married recognize you as a religious or spiritual leader and two additional witnesses. The wedding of one of my buds was performed by his best friend. The friend acquired one of those mail order ordination certificates beforehand to make it "official", but that is not even a requirement.

Is there a dark side to WICCA, and do Wiccans struggle to get past it at some point in their learning journey?

Yes. the temptation to do ill. To not abide by the law of three. To not allow your anger dictate your actions. My daughter became angry she wanted to hex some Bullies. This was her 1st test. To forgive. I also was tested. I spent a lot of time in anger. Instead of lashing out I sought peace in meditation. I found the part of me that touched the divine. I found a way to forgive. There is a dark path. But at the end the lords of karma wait. they are not forgiving masters.

My turn to answer a question.
did you attend the WICCAN ceremony skyclad?
NO. I wore a grey suit and Rikki wore a white dress with flowers in her hair.
    Was it a legal marriage?
YES. but we decided on two weddings to honor our beiefs. the Justice that married us in the 2nd ceremony now sits on the 9th circuit court of appeals.
I keep in contact with him still.

Rikki, did you happen to see the Nicholas Cage film The Wicker Man? If so, what did you think of it? Were you offended by its portrayal of ne0-pagans?

I had this comment on a different topic. I respond here so not to interfere in the topic it was posted to.
    Rekki,
for all you have said so far,
    go look at me
    what do you see ?
so far you seem like some sort of evangelical
so after all you have said here,
can you really see at a distance ?
and if you can really see, how do you deal with the loss in the future ?

I look at you and see what I always see. A person capable of doing good in life. And no I am not an evangelical. the choice to believe or disbelieve is a personal choice. one you must make on your own. Who am I to stand between you and God? My parents are Catholic My husbands new boss and his family are Catholics. I accepted the religious gifts from them in good sprits. Can I see at a distance? and loss?
I know death will come one day. I know maybe we will suffer pain and loss.
    let this explain better.

I don't dwell on death. That's not what this is all about. its learning growing, and serving others. This not a belief system. to love cherish and be blessed that's what WICCA is all about. To live your life to the fullest. To love each other. To build love and grow.
    Blessed be
