Yes I've watched it a couple times now, I like it, has the familiar feel of the previous Mad Max movies since George Miller directed and produced it...I just wished Mel Gibson was Max one more time, that's his character in my opinion, but Tom Hardy was good and I think he can carry the character of Max well enough...

I liked the movie but it took two passes before I arrived at that conclusion. Immortan Joe is played by the same actor that played the Toecutter. Hugh Keays-Byrne died about a year ago.

Tom Hardy was OK as Mad Max although he could've been anybody, I think anyone next to Charleze Theron becomes invisible. She had a better character in this movie, IMO. Hardy was in Dunkirk too and he had most of his on screen time before I figured out who the hell he was - was wearing a pilot's oxygen mask. Could've been anybody again.

Just watched Jonah Hex (2010). It got mostly bad reviews, but I thought it was decent. 6.5/10
The plot is centered around a post-Civil War Confederate maniac, and it displays Wild Wild West type technology. The main character has a supernatural ability he apparently doesn't have in the comics. Notably, it's loaded with tropes. Here's a comprehensive list.

Its cheesy, oh boy its cheesy lol, comedy cheese about humanity becoming dumber in the year 2505...Interesting story idea though, could be polished up and made into a more serious sci-fi movie...I'm about 30 minutes into it, I never heard of this movie before until I saw a clip on twitter...

So, I've finished it. It's not bad. By comparison, it's more full on fantasy than, say, Iron Fist. It's serious for the most part, but the traditional ending is hilarious. The mid- and end-credits scenes help set up what will happen in the future.

Here is why a sequel was never made...

Cowboys & Aliens Creator Says Studio Politics Killed Plans For Sequel
According to Cowboys & Aliens creator Scott Mitchell, it was a feud between Universal Pictures and DreamWorks that prevented a sequel from happening.

Some sequels equal or are better than the 1st. This is not one of them. The 1st ape movie is iconic. This is a joke. Heston came back only on the condition his character die. He gets his wish. This movie is a joke a parody. On that level it is so bad it's good.
    As a parody 7/10
    As Sci Fi 3/10

I finished watching Old and its a pretty good movie by M. Night Shyamalan...A little slow in the beginning but I found it very interesting the way the various characters coped with their situation and the ending was unexpected...Nice suspenseful thriller...7/10

After the 2nd movie did well enough to justify a third they decided to redo the first in reverse. This causes a time loop.
Man creates a self fulfilling prophecy. One where he sets in motion the very events he wishes to prevent.
All in all a much better movie then the last one. The low budget allowed some decent performance. Making this apes movie at least decent.
    6.5/10
