Activists and drag queens taking part in a march through Manhattan on Friday were heard chanting: 'We're here, we're queer, we're coming for your children.' The chant sparked anger. Some noted that the chant was a joke, designed to enrage their conservative critics. But, they pointed out, it was likely to backfire. 'This is why polling suggests support for equality is declining. These child-obsessed radical activists will drag us all down through their depravity,' said one. 'It's intentional for getting ppl on the internet mad but it's most likely gonna backfire,' said another. Another commented: 'It's like they try to make people hate them. I don't get it.'

College allegedly fired biology professor for teaching sex was determined by chromosomes X and Y​

Four students reportedly walked out of the professor's class when he stated that sex was determined by X and Y chromosomes.

St. Philip's College in San Antonio, Texas reportedly fired one of its biology professors for teaching his students that sex was determined by X and Y chromosomes.

First Liberty Institute, a law firm that defends religious liberty for Americans, sent a letter to the community college on behalf of the professor, Dr. Johnson Varkey, demanding the institution reinstate him after he was fired in January 2023.

"When teaching the human reproductive system, Dr. Varkey also stated that human sex is determined by chromosomes X and Y, and that reproduction must occur between a male and a female to continue the human species," First Liberty stated in its letter. "In the course of teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology, he made these statements in every class for 20 years, without any incident or complaint."

On November 28, 2022, four of Varkey's students walked out of this class when he stated that sex was determined by X and Y chromosomes just as he had dozens of times before.

Complaints against Varkey said he has engaged in "religious preaching, discriminatory comments about homosexuals and transgender individuals, anti-abortion rhetoric, and misogynistic banter" and that his teaching "pushed beyond the bounds of academic freedom with [his] personal opinions that were offensive to many individuals in the classroom," according to the letter.

Despite the fact that Dr. Varkey taught from school-approved and science-based curriculum, St. Philip's College claims his teaching was religious.

Michigan residents could be charged with a felony, face up to five years in prison and get a $10,000 fine for using the wrong pronouns under 'unconstitutional' new bill​

Michigan's House of Representatives has passed a hate speech bill, known as HB 4474, which criminalizes causing someone to feel threatened by words, including the misusing of their pronouns, with the possibility of a hefty fine or even jail time.

The bill introduces hate crime penalties for causing someone to 'feel terrorized, frightened, or threatened,' with 'sexual orientation' and 'gender identity or expression' included as protected classes.

Offenders could face up to five years in prison for such a felony offense or a $10,000 fine.

It is part of a continues effort by Democrats in the state to advance a pro-LGBTQ+ agenda in their first months in power.

The proposed legislation aims to replace the existing Ethnic Intimidation Act and extends protection against intimidation.

Portland city govt tells staff to avoid mentioning 'pregnant women' and 'citizens' in woke language directive​

Portland told staffers to completely remove the female aspect from pregnancy terms, breast feeding.

As Portland struggles to manage crime and an increase in homelessness, city staff members are being told to adopt a more "culturally conscious" vocabulary that includes not using words such as "women," "Caucasian" or "citizen."

The Office of Equity and Human Rights pushed an Inclusive Writing Guide in June as part of a "city-wide collaboration" to alter commonly used terms that they feel have evolved.

The guide suggested removing femininity from terms commonly used for women, including replacing "pregnant women" with "pregnant people" to be inclusive of those "who have this experience [pregnancy] but do not identify as women."

Portland officials also advised staffers to "instead of women’s health rights, say reproductive rights, instead of feminine hygiene products, say menstrual products or period products, and instead of breastfeeding, say chest feeding."

According to new findings published in the Journal of Applied Psychology, people are motivated to be politically correct out of a sense of kindness and consideration for their coworkers, but being politically correct can also lead to mental fatigue. The new research represents one of the first attempts to systematically investigate the topic.

Tell me about it. I keep hearing more and more about "DEI" (diversity, equity, inclusion) nonsense in my workplace, at a multinational company. Probably because the company has been forced into getting a good "ESG" (environmental, social, governance) score by BlackRock.

I'd be willing to bet they don't have the shoplifting and thievery that goes unchecked. In the good old days they'd take one or two troublemakers and hang their asses in cages on the city walls until they rotted away. Now that makes a point.

You might find this amusing. Ever heard of the Coffeyville, Kansas bank robbery in 1892 ? Pity we seem to have forgottent this valuable lesson: The Dalton Gang is wiped out in Coffeyville, Kansas

Elle Edwards was recently killed by a stray bullet in UK.

UK gangs now sport machine guns, so every few months innocent civilians are killed in a crossfire. Every single month Metropolitan Police in London confiscates 400 illegal firearms. As if that's not enough stabbings are rampant.

Yet, law abiding citizens in UK are prohibited from owing any kind of self defensive tool, even pepper spray. Got forbid, they can cause distress to violent criminals.

I don't really get how much is this kind of stuff spontaneous choice of general public, and how much is this actually choice made for us by "influencers" and official media people who are steering us towards it.

Unfortunately the other side of that coin is Kyle Rittenhouse. FWIW - I never keep a loaded weapon out at my wife's request and frankly, my own preference. No need where I live and I'll carry infrequently under very limited circumstances. If I had gangs with heavy weaponry running around I'd move (and keep a nice old 1950 vintage Russian SKS fully stoked at hand until I did)
