Since this all started we've been divided into two camps. You either believe all this or you don't and need more to be convinced. This is like starting a fire. Once the tinder catches you don't just toss a huge log on or you'll extinguish it.
OK, so now the Pentagon and Navy have come forward and said some interesting things. At this stage of the game if questions related to alien abduction, multiple races and so forth come up in public it sure as hell won't be helping.

No secret I'm skeptical and having seen the smoke I would really like to see the fire - and would be very disappointed if this all went off the rails because of the public ridicule that would likely ensue that line of questioning at this stage. After all these years waiting a bit longer shouldn't be too much to ask.

I bet you the answer would be "we don't know" and maybe that is the truth after all.

We dont know how people would react IF it turned out its aliens. Theres more than 7 billion people here, each one would react differently. I can assure you that some wouldnt take it so well, even if we had a benevolent or indifferent ET presence.

And we dont know what would happen after, people expecting some invite to some federation would probably be dissapointed. We dont bring a beehive into an UN headquarters and call it a nation... why would these more advanced beings want us in? Its more likely were like a zoo cage to them.

That is the way of the world, that can't really be changed. If you love your people you are going to tell them (white) lies. Your parents told you lots of lies to protect you, didn't they.

And if you love your job, being current POTUS, you might even tell your people some black lies, like hiding tax returns or university performance records or reasons you flanked military service etc.

Maybe yes, maybe not. Yeah, why pile on more speculation when we'll only get surrounded by thicker fog? There is enough stuff in UFOs that is real.

There is a jungle in the sky. There are 200 billion stars in Milky Way, of which 20 billion are Sun like. For argument's sake, on these 20 billion Suns there are maybe 20 million Earths. Why would any other alien species bother with panoply of human contagious diseases, for which their immune system is not prepared, when they can chose uninhabited planet and turn it into a little paradise for themselves?

@pigfarmer FIRE IS EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK.

UFOs consistently leave large amount of physical traces, both mechanical and electromagnetic, more than enough to justify further scientific information. If one just looks at this physical info with scientific eye it is obvious than something very real is going on. But scientists have no time to go through 90% of witness confusion and contradictions. They want somebody else to do it for them and serve it on a plate.

Problem is not in the reality of the UFOs but insatiable thirst of general public for narrative that includes obligatory adrenaline shot on the end. Public's desire for excitement drives media to heavily distort UFO picture that readily available physical info gets neglected.

Make an effort to understand Electrodynamics, General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics and suddenly UFOs will look completely plausible, if not real. When it comes to scientific judgement, common sense is utterly obsolete and useless.

    This is us:

    North Sentinel Island - Wikipedia

North Sentinel Island is one of the Andaman Islands, an archipelago in the Bay of Bengal which also includes South Sentinel Island. It is home to the Sentinelese, a people who have rejected, often violently, any contact with the outside world. They are among the last uncontacted people to remain virtually untouched by modern civilization.

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands Protection of Aboriginal Tribes Act of 1956 prohibits travel to the island and any approach closer than five nautical miles (9.26 km) in order to prevent the resident tribespeople from contracting diseases to which they have no immunity. The area is patrolled by the Indian navy.

Its no secret I am very much less skeptical but with a wait and see approach, my heart won't be broken if this all turns out to be smoke and mirrors but I will be very disappointed if it does...However I am very optimistic and I think this is beginning of something more...The world needs to know the truth about our alien visitors, at least what there is to be known thus far, everyone needs to know we do in fact have aliens visiting our world and our governments need to confirm this...I hope what were seeing are those first steps...

That's a bandwagon I never really fully understood, I get that having the pentagons seal of approval on something gives that information a broader sense of validation, But, I question why we need further validation from them,

Here is my reasoning, Now, While some people will say, We have downed craft or bodies, I can't comment on that because That's just opinion, What we do know is, they have in the past investigated UFO'S, There was Project bluebook, That was official I believe, And yeah, Project bluebook ended but, In this Modern technological and even global war climate, We cant really afford to ignore any UFO report, It could be Foreign technology, A spy plane or satellite or it could legitimately be extraterrestrial, The thing I am getting at is, Ultimately, I think an advanced race of being, intelligent and advanced enough to get here from the stars would be advanced enough to never or almost never get captured by our governments.

That's all I'm getting at here, I think Literally on the top secret highest levels they literally don't know much more than the public does when it comes to truly advanced extraterrestrials. I'm not saying Aliens aren't there, I'm just saying, We as a technological species would be about as equipped to catch them as a toddler would be to catch an NFL Kickoff.

Why would we need to "catch" them? Why don't they just introduce themselves to everyone?

They are not here for the benefit of humanity.

    That's why.

The fact that they have been investigating UFO's all along is no secret to anyone. If there are people who believed they were not investigating all along, they're very gullible.

The fact that they are admitting it now? Frankly, it scares the shit out me because.....

They are not here for the benefit of humanity.

It wouldn't be surprising to find that they're here in pursuit of their own interests and not ours, after all, we act solely in our own best interests too (except perhaps in a few exceptional instances like the Peace Corps). But that doesn't mean that their interests are somehow diabolical.

There are lots of good reasons why an alien civilization might choose to act covertly rather than instigating diplomatic relations - for example I'm not at all confident that humankind is ready to see an AAV land on the White House lawn; the shockwaves that would send around the world could precipitate all kinds of terrible unintended consequences.

Really? I have no problem finding interstellar travel plausible for a sufficiently advanced race or that we could be visited despite laboring under the burden of being largely uninterested in the physics involved. Could be your theories are spot on in regard to this.

Could be equally true that you're wrong at some fundamental level and are guilty of confirmation bias. When I have said that 'to a carpenter every problem is a nail' that's exactly what I mean. Common sense would say leave some room for doubt and maybe play Devil's Advocate for yourself occasionally. Confidence in your work is totally cool and I applaud anyone taking the time to put real effort into figuring out the mechanics of it. But taken too far it's Belief wrapped in scientific language.

Suppose all this comes out publicly straight away and there's ET. You're invited to come and look at their craft and when they pop the hood and point to the propulsion system they say "yup, here's the thing you never heard of because you aren't advanced enough yet to believe such a thing is even possible" Maybe one end of the gizmo is hooked to a piece of fairy cake.

I see it in this context, The Visitors, These Extraterrestrials If there is any interaction it is minuscule, Look at our history, and at least the presumed history of man and extraterrestrial.
In every reported or claimed case, The person interacted with extraterrestrials and was later returned unharmed, In fact, if you look at reported cases the number of people who seem to have been harmed or even killed by interaction with extraterrestrials is very low, Most reported cases even end with the person returned unharmed and with a complimentary case of amnesia concerning the event.

Let's break down the real psychology of interaction with purported Aliens. In every case, They came and then later they went. Never staying for long, Never attempting harm on a broad scale. Now, Let's logically examine here, This advanced race of beings, Could have harmed us Now or at any point in the past from possibly our origin. So, To worry that these aliens want to truly harm us or invade us, It would seem they have gone to great effect to conceal themselves and limit social interaction or alerting the public of their presence. Psychologically there are two profiles that could fit those kinds of visitations.

Profile #1. The visitors are studying our race and culture and trying to learn anything they can.

Profile #2. They are here because they have been here since our origins. They could possibly be the cause of our origins. Look I know that People don't want to hear the whole, The aliens created us thing.

I'm only saying, If you really study that subject it does get interesting. I mean, we humans are different than any other life form ever found. And we don't know why, Why are we so far advanced beyond other life forms in our reason and our very intricate thoughts. Of all life, Humans seem to be different than other life, What is that difference? were we altered in the past genetically by some extraterrestrial race? I'm not saying absolutely yes, I'm only saying, By Definition, an extraterrestrial and a god would similarly be alien. Both ancient records as far back as hieroglyphics to intricated french ciphers tell a story of beings from the sky that created humans.

Maybe, human life didn't just crop up here by accident, That's all I'm getting at.

What happens with scientific knowledge it gives you a extra new "common sense". Scientific knowledge is mostly mechanical: if A happened, than B must follow. That enables you to see bigger percentage of overall physical context. That is exactly the same reason why you go to see doctor when you are ill, doctor knows more so he can understand more.

I am not being overconfident, scientific knowledge simply gives me more solid reference points that pedestrian common sense.

Like: A) you hold an apple in a hand and you drop it >> B) apple hits the ground. Fiddle factor is zero. No matter what, in stage B), apple hits the ground.

Same with electrodynamics: A) UFOs have strong pulsating electromagnetic field around them, >> B) there will be plasma around them, they will produce static on radio over many wavelengths, they will cause petrol engines to stall.

Once you know that B) follows A) in 100% of cases, there is no more speculation. You are standing on a rock.

From that you can not work out 100% how UFOs work, but say, you are 50% there. You are 50% closer, then before you started. And that's just electrodynamics.

Now you plug in General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics, and in more or less same way, you cover another 30-40%. You are now 80-90% there. Inch by inch.

Anthropomorphism in action. We are still debating their presence and have literally no idea what their motivations, perceptions or behavior might be.

Their motivations can be simply worked out from scientific facts. Milky Way's habitable zone is 3.3 billion years older than Solar system, meaning, majority of nearby aliens are 3.3 billion years ahead of us technologically and economically. One should rather take this as a fact, than as opinion, unless one wants to knowingly cascade into potentially fatal series of errors of judgement.

Basically, in this case, we are the North Sentinel Island, that @Double Nought Spy mentioned above.

Just reverse you perspective and put yourself into alien's shoes. It would become as clear as a day.

Life has a way of surprising us even here on this planet. You have absolutely no way of knowing what, if any, their motivations might be.

Generally speaking, their motivation would simply be economic and scientific. Same as ours.

On the side of both economy and science they would want our DNA and DNA of the other living critters on Earth. DNA is the only unique thing that every habitable planet has. For sake of their own pharmaceutical industry, as well in order to learn more about life development in Milky Way.

But, you are right, that general view is not enough, because devil hides in the details. Would their economic interest motivate them to change our DNA? Would they abduct our women in order to quietly subjugate whole species? Who knows.

Fear of ridicule and isolation humiliates our ability to reason rationally.

It more sounds that people, kind off, are waiting to be approved to believe, rather than taking facts as facts on their own.
