Ever done something that later makes your skin crawl? Something so against your nature that you just can't believe you - of all people - actually did something that heinous? I did very recently and suppose I am venting or confessing here.

I had a sort of a road rage incident and I sort of ... well, broke something I shouldn't have and I'm wondering if my ass is in hot water as a result. What a dick .....

In the time travel thread I'd go back and say 'don't do that you idiot'

I've licked a small crystal of sodium hydroxide,

i was just curious, i knew it was corrosive.. At first i can taste a little bitter salty like taste than all a sudden i can feel my tongue was corroding, i rinsed my mouth with water but it still continued to corrode on that spot, fortunately it stopped and my tongue was fine, it started and stopped around less than a minute, i can only feel a little pain as if like something hot touched my tongue.

Here is a video on how it corrode aluminium.

My first job when I moved to LA was working for McGraw Hill a job. I can't say much about the job but I spent the better part of my time with him working for the what was called The SCAN department. My supervisor at that time was a lovely sexy British subject called Pauline Phillips who I loved to death.

One day she was wearing an electric blue bodysuit which was all the rage at the time. One time while passing her in a crowded passageway ( and this is true) my right hand which was down by my side managed to slap her on her perfect ass. I was mortified, and to this day I try to remember what was I doing or carrying to manage that. It truly was an error and if something were like that were to happen today I'd be dead meat.

Anyhow I heard her go "oh"! & the first thing that came to my head was not to do or say anything, pretend it didn't even happen, like I was too busy to notice that it had happened. I didn't know what else to do. nothing really came of it but I know for the rest of the day whenever I was sitting at my desk and she had something to say to me or have me do she would stand behind me, bend down and push her lovely boobs into the back of my neck forcing my head down to the desk.

Yeah, well there you go. These days you'd be pilloried in the town square and the company would have to call in grief counselors

I can't remember what they were called but women were wearing those suits with a belt that you kind of stepped into then pulled it up and then cinched it up with a belt.

Looking back now I'm laughing at the story how I was mortified but trying to pretend like it didn't happen by playing it cool

I was trying to pick one that I might admit to, even anonymously, but then Wade posted his and let the rest of us off the hook. No one is going to do better than that awesome story!

A week later and I am starting to let my breath out a little. So far nothing has happened but it doesn't mean there still couldn't be trouble. So here's part 2 of this question. You did something boneheaded and are filled with regret.

    Honest questions:

Is the regret there in anticipation of consequences?
Does it subside if you get away with it?

If you're anything like me the answer is no.

With time, you will think about it less and less. And the good news is that because regret it, you won't ever do it again.
