- 'Bomb cyclone' is expected to be the region's most intense winter hurricane in decades, sparking a flurry of wind chill advisories and freeze warnings from Florida through to Maine
- Freezing temperatures have already claimed a dozen lives in the past week across the East Coast
- In fact, it's freezing all across the US, with at least one place in every state hitting below freezing yesterday - and it's expected to do the same again today
- Jacksonville International Airport has delays while Charleston International Airport in South Carolina, Boston Airport, Massachusetts and Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, Georgia, are closed completely
- Victims of the cold include a homeless man dead inside a trash bin in St Louis on Monday evening and a 27-year-old woman dead from exposure on Monday on the shore of Lake Winnebago, Wisconsin
- Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal declared a state of emergency through Friday for 28 counties because of the cold
- Savannah will see its first snowfall since February 2010, when its covered with two inches this evening
- Snow has also begun falling in Tallahassee, Florida, where 3 to 5 inches is expected while Disney's Typhoon Lagoon, Universal Orlando's Volcano Bay and SeaWorld's Aquatica were closed Wednesday
- The bomb is expected to bring blizzard-like conditions to Boston, Long Island and Maine and four inches of snow to New York City where wind chill temperatures plunge to minus 20 on Friday

Norfolk’s Only Snowplow Guy Absolutely Thrilled for Coming Storm

NORFOLK, Va. — As the city prepares for inclement weather, Jerry Walters, the operator of Norfolk’s one and only snowplow, announced today that he is more than ready for the imminent snowstorm.
“There ain’t nothing this rig can’t handle,” exclaimed Walters as he cleaned out the massive orange truck that will be tasked with clearing the roads of the entire city by itself. “Me and my trusty plow Dorothy are ready to ride into the night of this storm, guns blazing.”

The approaching weather system is expected to dump up to 6 inches of snow on the Hampton Roads area, but according to the community’s one man street-clearing army, it’s nothing he can’t handle.
“She may not be the fastest on the road, but she’s got some serious power and grit, let me tell you. We’ll have the entire city cleared out by Thursday afternoon or your money back.”
After the interview, Walters was seen filling his plow up with a mixture of diesel fuel and Jim Beam bourbon.

Yes a bit surreal . Can actually happen in summer . Way down South you can have sun on a beach then snow clouds come over and it snows , hail , then its gone again. Weird place huh ?

Plenty for sale here Cal and cheap compared to the Mainland house and shack prices. You ought to vacation here for a look . You get a house 10 acres of farmland or bush for $300,000. No planes , trains or Highways.
