Gene is the anti-christ? No, that's just too obvious. No surprise there. It must be something more mysterious. Gene is about to ascend to the 5th dimension (now relabeled as The Event)? But then Gene would just hit his head on the dome over our flat Earth. Can't be that. Gene has hooked up with his "sisterhood" and is currently involved in a sex change procedure that is syphoning away all the household money? (So lucky he has a genderless name). No, Barbara would never let him use her purses and this could lead to serious marital discord. OK, I give up. Wait! Phoenix isn't about to be hit by a massive meteor, is it? Let me know so I can flee to safety on Mars using Basiago's Secret Wardrobe! (Harry Potter was full of high security leaks).
UPDATE: I do hope people know I am just joking and am just leveraging off Gene's name. Nothing I write here is really related specifically to him. You can put anyone's name in place of Genes. I'm just trying desperately to be relevant by attempting to be witty.

I live in a gated community with actual guards in the hills above Phoenix. The guards have orders to shoot to kill on sight. LOL We also have hybrid plants that keep us safe out here.

Well, Gene did have a point. I was repeating something I was told without being able to substantiate it. Someone told me in private that they had a 5 year subscription to the Paracast and Gene blocked the account. But perhaps this was a lie. So I did apologize to Gene for spreading this. So mea culpa on that one. Sharing facts about Gene is one thing, but to spread untruths is not cool, and I do not want to do that.Oh he definitely reads this thread. Check this out:

His tone is usually harsh with me. I just take that for granted. Gene does not like being criticized. No one would. So I am not surprised that he isn't friendly. For your average forum owner to be this way would be unacceptable. But Gene is sort of in the middle of a controversy.

I do think that if I failed to appear at a court hearing where eviction was supposedly legally sanctioned, I would not be on the internet checking out different forums. I would be doing anything possible to pay the overdue rent or find a new place to live. I do not understand how he can be so casual about events that for most of us would be terrifying and shame inducing.

He could also use the TP for its appointed use! Some teens TP'd my house when I was also a teen. My dad took down the TP with me and then made me use it until it was gone. Waste not, want not.

Sort of reminds me of something that happened to me late in high school. I was at home studying one night when I got a phone call from my town's juvenile detention facility. Turned out the girlfriend of one of my friends had been picked up for, I don't remember, let's just say shoplifting. If memory serves it was someone at the facility calling to tell me she was there, because they hadn't been able to get ahold of her mother or boyfriend. I accepted the message, and the responsibility to relay it, gravely. I was a relatively new driver but ventured out into a snowstorm and made my way to the apartment where her mother lived to deliver the message.
To me this was terrible news to have to relay, but the mother and mother's boyfriend (and my friend, who was also at the apartment that night) were completely nonplussed, taking it as a matter of course, and even telling me casually that they already knew exactly how the whole process worked. No big deal. Did I want to get high and sit down and watch some TV with them? I am a born rule-follower and it took me a few minutes to register - this wasn't some shocking bad news to them, no fodder for an Afterschool Special or very special episode. This was just how they lived.
I politely declined and made my way back home to my waiting Biology textbook.
