Wow. Well, I recall noticing some time back he was saying "If one in ten of my listeners subscribed to The Paracast+, I wouldn’t have to worry about donations and outside gigs to stay afloat."
But, I feel like he's watered that down now - if he can double (or triple! - and Gene, since you are not so hot with numbers, let me remind you in most cases the distance from double to triple represents a significant stretch, unless you currently have say only 2 subscribers) Paracast+ subscribers... MOST of his money woes would be history.

He might even be able to cut back some of his ride-sharing gigs! Which, got to admit, I am skeptical he drives much at all for Lyft or Uber. I guess it is possible; the income from driving in earnest seems it would significantly cut back on his need to beg. I mean you'd think he could get enough in a day of serious driving to cover the monthly bill for his storage space, for example.
But he has the compulsion to beg, that monkey on his back wants unearned money, and it never ever rests. I believe there was a time when he was asking for loans but that pretense has been abandoned for years now. He needs your donations. Today, tomorrow, so long as he is able to spin his bullshit. Help Gene save his future, a future which assuredly is only more of his present - until some actual setback overtakes him. And then what Gene? When you need a new laptop, or car? I hope you have a plan for this other than, your email lists will provide.

Based on all I have read of Gene, his desire to hoover up cash from others simply because he wants it has been a thing in his life. It's not a new or even recent development.
The speculation: I do wonder if podcasting combined with that cashsucker impulse has been a terrible toxic combo for him.
A thing about it is, I think he just feels entitled to other people's money. He produces two podcasts! Every week! We owe him!
And then of course he's figured out his "leave no trail" begging system, where he sends emails, and has a seemingly permanent 'gene-steinberg-emergencies' URL, but updates the actual page content routinely, leaving no trace of the last "emergency".
There's probably been enough turnover in his audiences that he gets some stream of new potential donors who won't realize his emergencies never end.
He somehow decides he can live like this, that the donations are income. Multiple evictions haven't alerted him to the problems with his genius plan. Would he have had to face up to reality long ago without the Paracast? Or would he have found another angle?

I agree. Grifting on this level going on for over a decade is not something that someone does out of desperation. - An emergency doesn't last 12 years. I have had financial troubles myself but like most people I never contemplated emailing people to beg them for money.
You don't just wake up one day and decide to defraud people after a lifetime of being a decent person. This is a lifelong pattern.
As is Schemey living beyond his means (people have previously shown debt defaults going back to the early 1990s). We all know how entitled he feels. He seems to think he is the most important person in the world and deserves everyone else's money much more than they do.
Remember that exchange he had with someone where he was asking them for a $200K plus interest for all the years he had been missing the money (putting aside the fact that he never had 200K in the first place)? Who the hell thinks like that when they are begging? That is typical Steinberg though. He can't even see why people find that kind of thing offensive. The whole world exists to serve him.
I also agree that the Paracast is part of his master plan to keep grifting. That is why he will never give it up.
That may also be why he doesn't care about it being any good - if it gets too much attention that may actually hinder his begging by making it too famous and putting too much of a spotlight on his shenanigans.
His only ambition is to keep his amateur schemes going. He probably thinks that will keep him out of jail because the authorities have bigger fish to fry.

As stated above, the businesses that Gene Steinberg owns, i.e., Making The Impossible, Inc, (a domestic corporation) which the The Tech Nightowl operates under and The Paracast LLC (a limited liability company) are both in revoked, status the former permanently, according to the Nevada Secretary of State, where the companies were borne.
The Nevada Secretary of State further states:
• On the first day of the first anniversary of the month following the month in which the filing was required, the charter of the corporation is revoked and its right to transact business is forfeited.
• If the charter of a corporation is revoked and the right to transact business is forfeited as provided in subsection 2, all the property and assets of the defaulting domestic corporation must be held in trust by the directors of the corporation as for insolvent corporations, and the same proceedings may be had with respect thereto as are applicable to insolvent corporations. Any person interested may institute proceedings at any time after a forfeiture has been declared, but, if the Secretary of State reinstates the charter, the proceedings must at once be dismissed and all property restored to the officers of the corporation.
So, to repeat: if the charter of a corporation is revoked the right to transact business is forfeited.
• Are Steinberg's domain's registered under the defunct corporation or LLC?
• Both web-sites currently operate under a defunct corporation or LLC as noted therein.
• Is Steinberg entering into contracts under said defunct businesses?
•Does the Nevada Secretary of State and or Secretary of State of Arizona know Steinberg is still transacting business under business entities in revoked status?
• Are his bank accounts in the names of these defunct businesses?
• Is his PayPal account in the names of these defunct businesses?

Hoo boy.
That is some frankly depressing stuff.
As for the future of his marriage one, well, I doubt either of them could get by even at the marginal level they do without the other's SS income. Hopefully there are other reasons they stick together but, I'll imagine that's one.
