I’ll be brief.

I paid for one more night at the motel.

The front office has been understanding, but if I can't pay this morning to extend my stay, I will have to leave.

This isn’t the only problem. The car’s tires are badly worn, and they wore unevenly, meaning that a wheel alignment is needed.

There’s more, but this is the worst of it.

Yesterday he was talking about a promising apartment he'd found, and putting together the money for it.

Today he has to beg to get new tires for his car, and explains yet again how motels work, and our obligations to him as a consequence of those things.

And wow, "Everything is collapsing!" is quite a statement to lead with, on that second email you posted. Good grief Gene.

You have to wonder what Steinberg’s mindset is these days. Daily posts that have been coming for years pleading for money and he is still going strong. He has never once to my knowledge said that he spent the day looking for a legitimate job. He spends his days coming up with silly excuses for you to send him money and monitoring what others are posting about him.

He just happened to notice that the tires on his car are bald (like his head) and need to be replaced? The bucket of silly excuses must be getting pretty low these days. I would love to see what sort of money he is asking for the Tech Night show and the Paracast, for that matter. It must be obscenely high. Hey Steinberg, no one will even consider buying your stupid websites unless you show the books on how much money they bring in.

He want a possible buyer to just take his word that they are profitable. No one is that delusional.

He probably has a spreadsheet set up that has all 12 months laid out; "OCT - I'll tell them I need tires. NOV - I'll tell them that my transmission is barely holding on & need a new one. DEC - I'll tell them my internet is going to get cut off if I don't pay (and anything extra I'll use for Hannukah gifts) etc. etc. etc. blah blah blah."

If you click on it it takes you to a Paypal page where you can donate to Paracast LLC.

The donation figure is empty so you set the amount and it doesn't say anything about giving you a subscription in return. It just seems to be begging on the behalf of the show and what you get in return for donating is absolutely zero. I doubt there is even a thank you since Gene doesn't seem to know that phrase.

I find it somewhat bizarre because it would make more sense to put an ad there for Paracast subscriptions. Also seems a bit disingenuous to be begging this way and not letting people know they can at least subscribe and get something in return for their money.

Hell if it wasn't a selfish amoral moron like Gene one would think he would just give everyone who donates an equivalent subscription in return - having heard other people's stories he is too much of skinflint to do that and maybe thinks that this will be extra "free" money on top of subscriptions.

Thinking like a normal rational person though, it would make more sense because Gene might actually get both more listeners and more money coming in.

It isn't like he keeps the Paracast and his personal accounts separate (although he should) - we know from his bankruptcy records and complete ignorance of running a business that he doesn't do that.

Just another little insight into how backwards his mind is and how he sabotages himself.

GS has two personalities; his on air personality and then his real personality. He tried hitting me up to be his marketing guy once he heard thats what I do for a living. But his e-mails were very short & cold. It was weird reading them and thinking this is the same guy I listen to that sounds really friendly. This is well before I knew what I know now.
