As Above So Below
Look what I ran across today. Haven't seen one of these in a while

I still carry some cash around, I don't think we should ever go to a digital currency, at least not in the foreseeable future...At this moment in my wallet contains one of those ten dollar bills along with a couple ones, two twenties and one Benjamin...

I snagged that one because it's an antique and it stood out from the rest in the pile. 1969. I showed it to the young girl working with me and she had never seen one like that. Her dad hadn't been born in 1969 yet either .......

Operating a cash register is new to me and I can't say I am overly thrilled with it but it isn't difficult. I just don't like dealing with cash and generally don't although like you said, usually have some on me and some in the house just in case. I literally have to remember to use and cycle it once in a while because it gets a tad rumpled after a while. Is that spindling? I'd hate to be accused of spindling.

This has me actually looking at money more than I normally do and picking up stuff like that. I don't collect anything really but its slightly fun.

Example. For whatever reason they stoke the drawers with fifty cent pieces. I snagged a silver 1957 half dollar the other day. So whoop de dee it's worth maybe ten bucks but it's nifty. I threw it in a box with the silver Kennedy half dollars I've had since I was a kid.

Awesome, that part went over my head lol...I stopped by the local pawn shop a few weeks ago, just browsing around, seeing if there was any new stuff and saw a couple silver quarters in very good condition, 1963 and 1964...The pawn guy wanted 20 dollars a piece but after a bit of haggling I got them both for 30 dollars as long as I also buy the 30 dollar Craftsman torque wrench I was interested in...Done deal...

When we were dating the future Mrs.Pf used to pull out these antique hundred dollar bills - and I don't mean just one or two. Her family had some all cash concerns and apparently a secret hidey-hole. Noted .... but I was never dumb enough to ask ..........:)

An acquaintance - frenemy more accurately - peddles weed and whines like a dog about his excess cash problems. Looks like he's solving it with cigarettes and McDonalds.

Just foolishness but these two ****kickers have grown on me. You think something like that is easy, it's not.

,,,,and if you might be wondering at the obscure reference, her e it is. It's a Big Adventure.

Actually, I've been to The Alamo. What a disappointment. First, Santa Anna's army apparently never left and if you look at where they burned the bodies of the survivors of those two hundred volunteers, It's a goddamned Wendy's.

Yea i got the code thing, chevy & my big block olds firing order.

I love VGG !

A couple of years ago there were two snotty trolls in here and one mentioned that channel. I think he was being condescending but in fact he turned me on to a really good show. Check out the back catalog - there's a 1925 Studebaker truck in there, all sorts of interesting stuff.

Derek's popularity has spawned any number of wannabes and has made the cost of absolute rusty scrap go through the roof. He has a Motortrend show called Roadworthy Rescues too. Same show, more mainstream format.

Most of them haven't figure out that no, you really can't pull a car from it's grave and expect it to go cross country. Well, you can expect that .......
