I feel like a stalker... sigh... but, from Facebook, behold Teddy Bear. You can't tell how large he is really but I thought I read that he's a Bichon Frise, which as a breed are tiny.

I feel like if this dog was "threatening" me I'd just be kind of amused, or annoyed if I were having a hard day.

But I know everyone isn't the same when it comes to dogs.

I think it is a mistake to presume any of the story is true. Gene may have been kicked out for other reasons, or he may have voluntarily moved or he may not be in a motel at all.

Appeal to small fluffy needful animals. Cheap shot. You know what this squeeek squeeek sound is? the world's smallest violin.

On the fraction of 1% chance that there is the tiniest of shed of truth to any of this people tend to overlook poor behavior in small dogs that would be unacceptable in big ones.

Here's a special message from Schemey fresh in my email - I suspect this is another extra message for everyone on the forums:

A Special Message From Gene Steinberg
Dear Sucker,

I want to thank the members of this forum for coming to my aid when I told you about my financial problems.

I’ve received some donations and Paracast+ sign-ups for which I’m grateful.

I am returning to you to ask if you can be of further assistance, as funds are depleted again.

On Saturday Barbara and I are moving to another motel because of a silly incident where another resident complained about our dog, Teddy Bear. Some of you have already received another message about it. Long and short is that he tried to be friendly with someone, and that person freaked, and so we were asked to leave.

In any case, I have to pay for the new motel reservation tomorrow, and catch up with some other bills by Monday.

I’d like to remind you, again, that despite everything, I have produced The Paracast and the After The Paracast podcast every single week without exception. We have a terrific show scheduled this week with author David Halperin. I’m editing it now.

In the meantime, Anders, our web developer/marketing person, continues to finish up work on the upgraded YouTube channel and the Paracast site. Both will debut soon. You can already see some of the new artwork at YouTube.

Are you able to help me survive for a few more days?

I welcome your subscription to our premium packages for the two radio shows, The Paracast+ and The Tech Night Owl+.

Or, you can send me a donation, please go to: Send Money, Pay Online or Set Up a Merchant Account - PayPal, login and use the Send to friends and family option. Enter my email address, gene@technightowl.com, and click or tap Next to continue the transaction.

I can also accept donations through Facebook Messenger and Apple Pay Cash via the Messages app.

If you’re not able to send a donation, feel free to forward this message to someone who might assist.

If you have any questions about my living situation, please let me know.

To receive regular updates, please sign up here: Available Mailing Lists

Peace,
Gene Steinberg

P.S.: I don’t want to send messages to you if you don’t want to receive them. To stop receiving emails from The Paracast Community Forums, please change your "Receive site mailings" setting from here: http://www.theparacast.com/forum/account/contact-details

Suspicious much?:wub8:

When it comes to Gene you can never be too suspicious. Just ask the victim of his BIL whom he smeared (and continues to smear) as a vindictive woman for trying to recover the $200K he stole from her (via the company that Gene was also a part of). Given his trail of lies only a fool would take him at his word.

That's great! I love that grasping tone there, reaching into your wallet as he reminds you that you owe him! He's kept cranking out episodes of his awful show! And now here he is with his hand out. I think this brings us to a solid week of begging emails, with more than one email on no less than three of those days. Maybe he's just feeling energized, what with Anders allegedly crafting his salvation somewhere in the background.

"In any case, I have to pay for the new motel reservation tomorrow, and catch up with some other bills by Monday."

Sure, just catch up with some other bills, no big deal. Say, what did you say your bank accounts and PayPal balance was at just two days ago? Oh, near zero, right? But yeah, no worries: you're flat broke, and you've got this.

Well at least he opened by thanking people. Past that though, what a creep.

I think that is an awesome breakdown of why his messages feel so sleazy and you're right they do have a creepy quality to them due to the manipulative way he tells us that we owe him for his great sacrifice in making the show. The same show that most of us stopped listening to a long time ago.

Yeah I don't buy his dog story one bit, more lies and bs most likely in my opinion...It was probably GS big mouth that got him booted, if he is even living in some motel, which I have my doubts about that...I think the whole scenario sounds fishy...

You are right though, people overlook small dog infractions, if my 80lb. dog did something similar I can't imagine the drama and problems it would bring...

I'm not familiar with BIL. What was that?

BIL = Brother In Law

In Gene's case, the late Stephen Beizer.

I don't think Beizer was technically Gene's brother-in-law, rather, he was married to Gene's sister-in-law. But since even court documents refer to them as BILs, I'll let the hair splitting go. ;) (and, it's just easier to call him Gene's brother-in-law)

Judgemental on twitter makes a really good point which suggests that Gene is (what a surprise) lying:

Screenshot 2018-09-08 01.26.22.png

So Gene was begging for more money for the same motel (but according to today's message he had already been thrown out). You can bet if it had really happened he would have mentioned it on Thursday and created an emergency storyline like "Thrown out of the motel and nowhere to go!"

- Yet he didn't. Thursday's message simply said:

The motel is paid for another day. I have to pay tomorrow to extend our stay.

The storage facility is paid for the month.

But that’s where we are, with no enough money for food and groceries and other necessities. The accounts are close to zero.

Anders, our web developer/marketing person, is finishing up work on the upgraded YouTube channel and the Paracast site. It’s taking longer than I hoped, but it will get done no later than this week.

In the meantime, are you able to help me survive for a few more days?

So as Judgemental said no mention of moving to a new motel and saying that he has to pay on Friday to extend his stay.

This suggests to me that the whole thing has nothing to do with Teddy Bear scaring someone on Wednesday and then them being told to leave on Thursday.

This type of inconsistency is a classical mistake that liars make when they are confabulating. It is almost impossible to do when recounting actual biographical events.

Maybe he did get thrown out of the motel but it most likely happened on Friday and it was due to something else - perhaps a payment issue with Gene trying to push his luck.

Or as I said before, perhaps he just found a better motel and wanted to move but thought he might try to use the situation to his advantage by framing himself and Teddy Bear (who people have more sympathy for) as the victims in another tale of woe.

Schemey strikes again!

I have thought for a while now that the motel management was about due to find an excuse to send the grifters packing. It's also a safe bet that this little scenario is 90% bullshit.

Teddy Bear probably did bark at someone in the office, while Gene was trying to pull some shit. Gene isn't creative enough to make something like this up out of whole cloth, but his description of events probably bears as much resemblance to reality is his usual drivel. This one is entertaining though.

Anders! Dude, what's the hold up? Are you waiting to get paid before you unveil the magical transformation? If that's the case, don't hold your breath.

I think this is all bs too, time will tell, but I have the feeling he will come up with some excuse and reason why it never took place, or it will be some dumb simple stuff done that could have taken less than an hour lol...

He probably read a story in the local paper about someone getting evicted due to their dog attacking a neighbour and Gene thought it was a good story to rip off and use for his own grifting.

The more I've (alas) thought about it, the more suspicious it does all seem.

I find it particularly odd in light of how Gene had ramped up the begging emails just before debuting this plot twist. Yet he didn't make out moving to a new motel as a major hardship and clear injustice, as one might've expected him to do.

Also: two carloads of stuff in a motel room? Aye yi yi.
