Other than the title not much has changed for this message:

"I visited another apartment complex Monday, and found yet another affordable unit that meets our needs.

I’d like to apply for one of these apartments, but I need to raise enough money to cover the move-in."

If true, this leaves me puzzled. He makes out like he isn't sure he'll be able to pay for one more day in a motel, but he has enough money to contemplate renting an apartment? I don't get that - anytime I've rented an apartment there has been an outlay of cash. I've had to pay an application fee, pay a security deposit, and pay the first month's rent.

(OK, maybe once or twice I caught an apartment complex at just the right time, during some promo, when they gave a break on first month's rent or what have you but, as a rule of thumb it costs some dollars to secure an apartment.)

Then Gene, on top of that, feels he has to pay for movers. But if he is behind on his storage space payments, it seems unclear if he'll need them. I doubt he can enter his storage space right now, or move anything out of it, without first settling his bill.

Finally I wouldn't be surprised if his bad credit raises alarms to where he either cannot secure an apartment, or has to pay more in the way of a deposit or other fees up front. (Could things be different for certain special housing cases...? Some kind of senior citizen fixed / low income rentals that also forgives you your bankruptcy and multiple recent evictions? I do not know.)

And so I have to wonder, has he amassed any of the money for all of that, or none of that money? There's no way of knowing of course. He claims he wakes up EVERY morning wondering if he'll be able to pay for the motel that day. How is that possible? Where's that money coming from before the claimed noon check-out time, each and every single day?

Gene! You don't make sense!

Maybe I would subscribe to the Paracast+ if the overtime show was Gene regularly responding to questions about the bullshit emails he sent over the past week.

Me too. In fact I would pay for a show where people get to call in and grill Gene over his inconsistent statements for the entire show - the paranormal component is unnecessary.

There will never be a call-in element to the Paracast. Steinberg has to know he would be peppered with questions about his finances and there would be some hard balls thrown at him. I would love to be able to nail him down as to where that Social Security money is going. That money should be going for shelter and food. The way he states it, he is completely broke the day that money hits his account.

There is a big bullshit element to all this and Steinberg likes to keep things as nebulous as possible.

I imagine that at some point when the e-begging completely dries up Schemey will start putting begging into the podcast itself. Only a matter of time. It's weird that he doesn't already given that he is plaguing the listeners with his begging letters anyway, it is not like they don't know it is going on.

The way he puts it he never gets any regular money into his account. He has never even acknowledged that the social security money even exists. He basically tries to give the impression that he has NO income whatsoever which makes his refusal to get a real job even more outrageous.

The way he just flat out admitted in his recent "Paracast+ One Thousand or Bust" email that money from additional subscriptions would mean "many of my personal financial troubles would be history" was striking to me, but imho typical of him.

I've listened to a lot of podcasts over the last 11 years, and even worked on one for a couple years. I've seen various fundraising / moneymaking angles tried and only Gene is begging for subscriptions not to pay for things that will improve the show, but to help unfuck his personal finances (an "impossible situation", to quote Gene himself). Yes, others do hope with their Patreons or the like they might pay the folks making the show something, but it is a rare show that expects to become a job replacement for the host. Thus Gene and his alleged present circumstances.

Gene of course likes to pretend sending emails almost daily that read like, "HELP I am being dragged toward a large WOOD CHIPPER by ARMED MEN who want cash RIGHT AWAY or they will END MY LIFE! PLEASE SAVE ME! Only you can help! P.S. When sending money via PayPal please use the 'friends and family' option." is no different from a PayPal 'donate' button or a Patreon. But as Tim Binnall pointed out, making the distinction here isn't rocket science. How does Gene still have any credibility with anyone? Oh right, he's presumed to still have some audience out there.

Well he seems to have never understood the difference between asking for donations towards a podcast vs asking for donations towards his own personal finances under false pretences (which is fraud). He has been caught in multiple lies over the years but still acts like he is the some put upon victim who has done nothing wrong. That is part of what makes him so vile but I suppose he will never understand that because he will do anything to get money and he seems incapable of any kind of self reflection. In his universe he is always right and the rest of the world is wrong.

I think a big part of his strategy for a long time was trying to leave no real evidence of his past requests, this despite him having an apparently permanent 'gene-steinberg-emergencies' URL on one of his websites. I think part of the value of the @SchemeGeneRC and the UFO Trail blog posts is putting a record out there of his behavior.

People downplay or explain away Gene's behavior but I think having the record out there makes this harder.

More and more I think Chris O'Brien bailing did Gene in. It's just been a slow demise since then.

I am not blaming O'Brien. But, Gene's little racket required a co-host who people wanted to hear, who did all (most?) of the work. Without that, it's all winding down. I doubt there's a way to get the machine running again but, who knows. I'm surprised he has someone willing to co-host for him now.

Steinberg actually got the co-host he wanted. Murphy does all the work and he doesn’t mind kissing Steinberg’s backside. The problem now is that there are no members any longer and they keep booking retread guests that they have talked to multiple times.

It would be a revelation if Steinberg would say he doesn’t care about the paranormal or UFOs. He should tell everyone that he needs a list of names he can email constantly in order to whine about money.
