Hah. I found myself tempted to reply and ask J. Randall Murphy if he ran his reply past Gene before posting. I guess that answers that.
Unlike J. Randall Murphy I can't get past that Gene has taken advantage of people, and that the sum of his known behavior makes me think he is mentally ill, severely ethically challenged or both. And, IMHO, Gene's behavior hurts not only other people but Gene himself. I am not volunteering to help him; I am not even sure he can be helped. I would like him to stop stiffing landlords and begging cash out of people who can ill afford to donate.
But past all that I think you still have serious credibility issues where Gene Steinberg is concerned. These don't trouble J. Randall Murphy at all. I don't get it.

I get it. Randall thinks the Paracast can give him a mediocre level of fame. In exchange for that he is willing to ignore Gene's clearly unethical (and in some cases criminal) behaviour. You can see it in the way he doesn't deny the behaviour but merely says it has been exaggerated or twisted.
He thinks this will give him a get out clause in the future because he will just say that he was unaware of the true extent of the behaviour - not sure it will work though, the public records don't exaggerate and they have been pointed out to him.
He is just gambling that the paranormal world is crummy enough to not care in the long term. Maybe he thinks that Gene has at best a few years left and when he snuffs it, Randall can take over and make the Paracast his own podcast with the hope that people will completely forget about Crimeberg and his scams.

Randall also outright shut down a debate with a I am right you are wrong statement. a well run debate never is shut down but both sides learn from it.
An unwillingness to defend your view point does little to further dissussion.

I also agree about the damned email cliffhangers.
What's amazing to me is he didn't actually say having 1,000 Paracast+ subscribers would solve all his problems, only "many" of his troubles. Which frankly was probably unintended honesty on his part.
How does J. Randall Murphy grant this guy a shred of credibility at this point? Does he not pay attention to the emails? They make no sense. Gene has to have money ASAP or he will be thrown out of the motel, just like any other non paying guest. Then suddenly Gene is still in the motel. Gene says he can't pay or didn't pay his car insurance, then a day later he's suddenly got a new fiasco that only your dollars can solve. That he lives this way at all is mind boggling, that he can't even keep the story straight doesn't exactly build trust. I don't think you can just say "Oh, well, he's 73, give him a break" either, as he's been doing this for years and years, and his actions still have consequences.

Obviously Gene doesn't send Randall the e-begs. I find it hard to believe he doesn't get the verbal begging and sob stories though. Gene just can't help himself - he has to push his luck and beg from everyone - even someone who is keeping his podcast going for him behind the scenes - it takes a particular kind of denial to be blind to that. Gene is like the guy that shits in the well that the town drinks out of and Randall is like the mayor who chooses to ignore it even though he drinks the same water.

The brief time Randall was on here showed he didn't give a shit about what Gene,does/has done!.Randall cares only about himself and saw an opportunity to become co-host.Now he's living the broadcasting dream!!.In reality he would have more listeners if he opened his windows at home and shouted for a few minutes.

I’ve wondered this for some time. How has Steinberg skirted jail time? Some may consider him a con man, but he had been before a court judge more than a few times. You would have thought someone would have sued him by now to the point he would have been sent to prison.

As far as I know, the penalty for losing a lawsuit is financial, not jail.
