Gene stated that it was the physical address associated with the mailing list. Like a lot of things associated with him, this is rather vague.
There is an UPS store at that address that is listed as renting mailboxes. Businesses use suite 160 with various box numbers added. Gene had box 144, which he used for Making the Impossible, his book, and other things. At one time a phishing scam was owned by someone at box 353. Various businesses are listed at other box numbers.
For at least part of the time he used the Postal box address, he also had an apartment at the Desert Club in Phoenix. I suppose if you might be moving a lot, a mailbox would be helpful for business purposes and other reasons

It's also convenient if you want to avoid confrontations with people who are angry that you scammed them. That's why a lot of shady businesses use them.

I think it has to be said Stephen Beizer was trying to get out of any obligation for the Torson loan, or (if I read it right) the money he previously said he owned Gene. (Gene was such a great guy, getting his BIL to sign promissory notes for helping him out... note Gene wanted everyone else to just DONATE to help them. He expected to get repaid.) At the same time it's hilarious and gross to see Beizer rattling off the exact same observations and complaints about Gene's lifestyle and begging that people have been making online for years, and continue to make.

It's always funny to see criminals turning on each other. I suppose that is always a risk when you are scamming people.
I can't wait to see Gene's reaction because I honestly don't think he has seen it yet.
I wonder how he will try to explain this - so far he has painted the BIL as some kind of saint who was the target of a conspiracy by elderly people to rip him off. How will he explain this same saintly character calling him a scammer?
The mind boggles. I would love to be a fly on the wall when he reads it. Small reprieve will probably catch fire.
