That's a lot like the eclipse in 2017 where the shadow was over seven cities named Salem.

If Florence takes the predicted path, poor Wilmington will get punched in the face. After that, the storm would pass directly over Roanoke, causing major flooding in the western part of Virginia. Today TWC is saying the storm will probably make landfall as a Cat 4 and it may slow down once it gets inland. Looks like it's shaping up to be a very bad scenario for a lot of areas.

Its an interesting feeling to have.

Well being about 900 ft above sea level and I'm above a valley just under a ridge line I don't have to worry about flooding, just the winds taking down trees...

We had a good storm come through a couple weeks ago and fell a 150 yr. old oak tree, a big one too, crushed 6 cars in a parking lot in town...Good thing no one was in those cars...

I hate driving in the Outer Banks to begin with because you just have the one main road and all those weird bridges. I couldn't imagine getting stuck out there, waiting to evacuate. It would be unbelievably stressful.

I live in Richmond, so I usually take the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel or the Monitor Merrimack Bridge Tunnel when I'm heading home. Both of them are notorious for getting backed up with traffic. Just imagine adding a hurricane apocalypse to all that. Fun, fun!

Now they're predicted mud slides in the mountains. Be careful!

Thanks, its not too mountainous in my area but many rolling hills and valleys and there is a steep drop off about a 1/4 mile hike from my house, I could see a mud slide there but I won't hike around there when the weather has been bad, the major Appalachians are 40 minutes north of me...
